I'm looking for some new pedals. I've got some ghetto ones from autozone that are chrome and tribal pattern. Post pics of the ones you have, or post pics of ones that would look sweet. Thanks

what makes autozone pedals "ghetto"? Curious b/c i was planning on getting some from there.

Sparco if you're more into performance. Momo if you're into flash and a bit of performance.

Stay away from the cheap clip on types. They will not stay on securely. Installing the bolt on type isn't all that hard. You just need a drill with a good bit and might have to run to the hardware store to get longer bolts. Takes less 20 minutes tops with lots of beer breaks.

Done right... you can actually heel toe with ease just like the pros.

I drilled to mount the plate that my gas pedal bolts to. The brake pedals clip on securely and will never come loose. As for the dead pedal, it is installed to the stocker by some sheet metal screws that are supplied. :thumb:

pedals are pedals, there really is no such thinsg a "performance" ones, there are ones that are heavier, ones that are lighter, if thats your concern, best ones u can get are titanium plates, drilled so they weigh even less. but like i said pedals are pedals, they dont weigh much to start with. just go with what you think looks good. if you look at the race car ones, theyre just small metal plates with holes in them, thats it.

Not quite, bucky. Shape of the pedal matters in ease of performing heel toe braking and rev blipping. Take a look at a ALMS GT/GTS car, Speed Challenge car, or GrandAm race car. You'll most likely find Sparcos like these...

Than a set of Razos, APC, or some other generic brand. Of these the Razos are probably the most functional... and have good looks as well.

the same thing that makes any exterior or show kind of part from there ghetto... its autozone. every ricer and their mother has been there, prolly bought the same thing as you. plus its probably cheap

Whats wrong with the stocker ones, besides show? And whats this "heel toe" stuff?

Rev matching during downshifts by keeping your toe on the brake, and "blipping" the throttle with your heel. Once you learn it, you'll never go back.

Eclipse pedals aren't positioned very well for it, IMHO. The height relationship seems all wrong, plus I can't get enough leg room for it without sitting in the back seat.

I had Razo pedals on for awhile. Made it much worse. With the wider pedal area, you can't *feel* the pedal as well with your foot. It's like driving with work boots on. I took em off.

Defiant's idea is actually the best: take the pad off the gas pedal. Gives a better feel, and gives some more room when sliding your heel over.

Well I need to get some aftermarket pedals and I wanted to know what the best ones are. (a few of my pedals are falling apart so no choice) I dont want the Advanced Auto cheap clip on ones. I want to get real ones that bolt on. Also I want them to be larger so that I can heel toe (incredibly hard to do with stockers!) Anyone have any suggestions on brands and models to get? Also how about where to get them as long as you know? Thanks a lot.

check out ractive, sparco and momo, the european styling will be more expensive but Ractive is decent for what you get, if u dont like how they go one get a Metal bit and a vice and drill through you stock petal then the after market and bolt em togethr looks sharp and is much more functional (dont have to worry about tighten screws when petals get loose and etc.) much more a permanent set up

i wondering how you guys/girls drive without heel towing. pops tought me how to when I was learning to drive on my jeep, I can't imagine driving without that skill. If you don't know how, learn its WELL WORTH IT. It allows you to keep rpms up in cornering, downshift smoothly, and even shift without the use of the clutch.
