im also in the process of building 2 more pcs right now for other people

Useful and many people have problems with DC-DC power supply and VGA resolution issues when installed CPC (Car PC). :|

If you have TurboTimer, you can connected CPC with TT (or ignition) to do auto-shutdown. :)

There is a power supply many people including myself use that regulates power and automatically turns the pc on and off with the car, even through cranking

Chuckt is that one of those travla cases that fit in 1 din space? Also is there enough clearence for wires to connect behind it to fit in a din space?

I have my "CarPC" already built and just waiting to get my car back from slowboy to install it. I'm at school right now but I will post pics of it as soon as I get home. It operates on Windows XP and uses my in-dash dvdplayer/screen as the monitor.

right now ive got my plate full on building pcs. after im done tho i may make some more, not sure

Hey Chuck. Why not do a writeup on the general directions on how you build your car pcs and put it in the tech articles? Just a lot of people seem interested in the PC's you make and I am sure it would be benificial to people to have an article made by you detailing how to make them and what not. Also how you ran your connections etc. Just a question/suggestion. Definetly would be appreciated by most. Also that way you wouldnt have so many poeple asking you to build them one and what not. Only good if your not trying to make a business out of it of course  .

and boosted, does that entire setup fit into your double din radio slot? Not the mouse and keyboard of course.. LOL And what did the DVD player run you? and which model is it?

$1200 for the DVD player new, I got it a few months ago though. Should be a lot less now. Its a Panasonic CY-VMD9000U... and yes, the computer and DVD player both fit into the double DIN slot. I need to get my car back from Slowboy so I can install this thing. :|

im gonna sell a few more pcs probably to get some extra change but i will try to do a writeup on how its done. BTW i finished my pc and installed it finally. LOVE the thing. Right when i put my key in it starts booting and when i want to leave my car i just turn the key off and it shuts itsself down no problem.
