ok so just recently i finally got my kit on, VIS drift front, low blitz sides and blitz rear.. and ever since i got my rims awhile ago, ive been needing to lower my car, but now that my front bumper sticks out i already scrap on thing i havent touched before. the town i live in, is.... not good driving, and i still have to go to school - meaning ill be going over atlesat 5 speed bumps/day. so i was wondering how bad it is going to be if i lower my car with eibach prokits. they were the springs i always planned on getting but im hesitant to lower my car.. but it will look 100x better dropped a tad, so how bad do you think it will be? anyone on here with prokits and a bodykit to give me some help? thanks guys. :thumb:

im not much help, as i have neither lowered suspension or a body kit, but you could try the suspension section. They may be able to help more in there.

Since your obviously going for show and not speed, I'd say go air-ride. That way you can have it as low as you want then when you get to the speed bumps you can raise it.

LOL.. i DO NOT have the money for air ride, otherwise id get it, i also do not have the money for a GOOD coilover system, like tein or something. and i posted it here, seeing how im more worried about how much ill hit (the body) other then the suspenion - i KNOW eibach makes a good spring, and i know there are in the top 2 or 3 springs for DSMers. and i KNOW they are what im getting regardless. so thats why i posted here.

what about speed bumps? do u have to get sideways on them? and do u get sideways in a lot of the dips?

I have a sportline kit 18x8 235/40s I dont know about the speed bumps that you plan on goig over but the ones I do if I go to slow I scrape but if I take them at 5-10mph the shocks dont compress and I dont scrape. my kit is molded on as well. I do plan to raise it up and go with the proline kit so I can get a jack under the car with out driving it up on 2x4s

do you have a kit?

i want to lower my car so bad, but im really worried about driveablity.. :(

You said you already scrape chances are you will scrape even worse 1-1.5 inches lower.

Yeah it's simple, learn how to drive a lowered car. I could drive a car with 2" of clearance to the pavement on flat ground and successfully navigate most obstacles. It's all about whether or not you're willing to go very slow and at angles up steep inclines and over bumps, or take an alternate route if you see a driveway you know you won't be able to make. I currently have 3.5" of space under my front end and have scraped less than 10 times in over a year.

yea i already navigator trechers terrain very slow. (you like those big cool words dont you :D ) i no longer scrap at the places i once did.. i learned where i had to get sideways etc.. im just worried about bottoming out more then anything really now... but i thikn regradless, my bi*** is getting dropped like an ugly date. :thumb:

Did you mean navigate treacherous terrain? That's just how I talk, please forgive my good vocabulary ;) You're fine dropping with Pro-Kits and most likely you'll want to lower it more later. I'd invest in the Ground Controls just in case you change your mind, they're only a little bit more and well worth the adjustability.

Really? I know your kit sticks out further than mine, that must be the difference. I only ever have problems getting my front over...the low blitz sides really don't hang down much further than stock...at least not the ones on my car. I contemplated air a while back, but I did some talking to hardcore air guys and they basically explained that I would not be able to achieve the stiff ride I have now...so I guess that's out. In the end, the small inconvenience is worth it.

ok yup, bring back a old post i started awhile ago... what struts are you guys using with the prokits?

oh yea, if a mod wants to/feels the need to move this topic to the suspension forum, please do so. :thumb:

Go with koni yellows. They will handle any spring rates you will throw at them, and they have a shorter shock body, perfect for a lowered car.
