2G-specific pics of my new kit and suggestions..

so heres my baby, just got out of the shop - yes the pics look PINK, my car is 100% RED. my awesome digi camera is my video camera .. so yea.. it gets the point across.

the rear isnt on yet, it needed repainted and goes on this week/weekend.

VIS drift front, low blitz sides, and (soon) blitz rear.

and now for some suggestions.. im really looking to keep the red/black theme going on... i plan on getting a VIS cf hood soon, but anything else to help completement the black on the outside of the car? im kinda tempted to get cf tails but i refuse to lower my "clean rice" standards but i dont know.. they would look decent on my car.. please help me keep my car going in the right direction.

(its all show, its an RS )

That kit is actually pretty clean, not too flashy. Most 2G sideskirts that come with kits are too ### looking. But I like those. I also like that the kit is painted

thanks man, i was almost going to get the regular blitzs, but was like no i want those other ones and found that VIS had them too, sweet. so i order it at a KILLER price.

i also couldve gotten my kit put on anytime i wanted to, i got it XMAS, but waited 4 months til i could have it painted THEN put on. my friend went to school for bodywork and works at a bodyshop. he did it all for 600. not bad at all.

I would go with a carbon fiber hood like you said and a high turbo spoiler. And maybe some new rims.

i was thinking about a turbo wing.. i have paint still left over from my kit so thats a very good possiblity.. as with lowering, i want to drive my car a little to get used to the kit - this front bumper sticks out and hnags down a lot more... and where i live the roads are awful, but i do plan on some eibach prokits. as for new rims, i get mixed opinions from myself all the time, i like my rims a lot, but i wish i wouldve gotten 18s instead of 17s, if i could sell my rims, i would get new ones, but if not, no biggie, i like them, just need to get rid of that ugly wheel gap and they wont look as small.

its not my fault mitsu designed our cars with weekend monster car-ing wheel wells

Nice. I plan on getting the same side-skirts at some point, but filling in the side air duct as it doesn't do jack anyways. I wouldn't go for the blitz rear though, as it's really, really played out. I like the Varis knockoff rear myself.

Too bad your car came out purple!

please read my post, like i said, my PICS came out shitty becaus ei dont have a "real" digi, but as soon as i get my back on, im getting my friend to take some nice pics of my car with some good backgrounds.

and WHY would i paint my CF hood if the reason im getting it is because i want it to match my wheels?

and cait sith, that backend is not to my liking, yes the blitz is played out 10 years ago, but, it is like the ONLY good looking rear for our cars. really it is. and see this reply for why it came out purple, new pics soon!

There are 2 different types of blitz skirts.

The blitz high skirts. Those are the ones witht he big vents that are up towards the door more.

The low blitz skirts - They have a similar pattern, but they have a more subdued vent, and it is lower (like the ones you have)

IMO, the low skirts look better, nice pick.

Hot car! Curious where you got the kit, and how much you paid? I was going to do the same thing with either a R34, Striker, or Drift front

Also, what does the turbo wing look likE?

i got the kit from VIS, visracing.com i emailed the guy, talked to him for a few days, i helped him out with his website and said to me that if i really wanted it to call and hed hook me up. and he did. their kits are usually ~900+150 shipping. i got my kit for 450+150 shipping. so 600 bucks. my friend who went to body school and now works at a bodyshop , painted and fitted it for me for anohter 600. so i get an awesome kit, good matched paint job for much much cheaper then most. (having a kit done right like mine, is ~2000)

the turbo spoiler is the "high curvy wing" its a stock spoiler that came on the 97-99 gs, gst, and gsx models, i know youve seen them.

ouch 1100 for the kit, I've seen kits on ebay for about 450 shipped, I'm going to look into that. The kit looks nice though $600 for paint and fitting seems kinda pricy though, isn't it? Good quality paint job though?

When I get mine, maybe I'll just stick with the R34 the drift front doesn't look quite right to me, something about it, I can't put my finger on it.

Those ebay kits probably fit like junk (i have no experience, but you usually get what you pay for).

$600 isn't bad for painting and fitting a whole kit. Just my front bumper cost $200 for painting and fitting. If you figure $200 a section (front, sides, rear), seems about right.

I payed 450 for my drift front, drift sides, and blitz rear. Got it from a local place, and it fit perfect. The drift kit is the best lookin kit for the 2g imo.

most car shops want anything between 1200-2000 to paint and fit. i was going to take my car to Custom Airwerks, theyve put a few cars in some ags and are real local to me. they were going got give me a deal since i was young, and they wanted 1000. which still, isnt a lot. my kit is a VIS. VIS is a good company - yes they used to not be so hot, but theyve reallyed changed around the last 3-4 years. - and i know that they back their products up, and there fiberglass work is pretty damn good. UNLIKE those ebay kits that sell for like 399. those things are AWFUL, cheap thin laid fiberglass, it will crack and break so much easier, it will not fit etc etc etc.

when doing body mods, PLEASE PLEASE dont half ass it, i hate that more then anything.

Other than VIS, who else makes good kits? GTP?

I guess I'm kinda spoiled, my friend won best paint at Nopi a few years back and he and his paint shop are sponsored by House of Colors. I can get my entire car sprayed /w nice paint for $500 ;p

Okay if I were you, i'd get the carbon hood, lower it then you are finished. I think if you get any more black going, you're going to start looking ricey. By all means do not waste money on those "carbon" tail lights. Maybe get the carbon rm lip, and if you still want more black, get a black emblem for the back. I think the black wing would be a bit too much. But its up to you, just a suggestion. So far so good.

taillight suggestion: Instead of buying the carbon fiber set, get a clear set and paint the inside housings black. That way, they will match your headlights. Just my $.02. That's a pretty clean looking kit too
