Hey guys I have just bought a 90 AWD, and I have a quick question...

The sunroof latch doesn't close entirely all the way. Is this something that can be bought at the junkyard or are there any other type of fixes for it?

Well any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hey guys just to let you know, I did try the three adjustment screws - and it didn't do ANYTHING ;)

There are also two screws on the glass of the sunroof, they didn't do anything at all. The sound is extremely annoying!

I guess there was a latch recall done on the 90s, but its too late now to bring it back, and have it changed, right?

Well thanks for all the suggestions! If anyone has any solutions to this problem, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Are there anything in the way of the sunroof to keep it from closing in the way? seal not seated properly? One fix I remember reading about was to use washers to lower the latch so the sunroof would come down lower.

If there was a recall and you don't know if it's been done to your car, you need to call Mitsubishi (or Chrysler). They'll ask you for your VIN and look it up on their computer to see if the recall repair was done. Recalls are good on all affected vehicles regardless of owner or years of ownership.

Its not that the seal isn't sitting properly with my sunroof, its just that when you close the latch, it isn't pulling the glass down with enough force. It doesn't seem to closet that tightly, just closes the glass, but doesn't latch all the way.

It rattles whenever I'm driving really bad and is so annoying!

Maybe that washer idea might work. I'm not really sure where I can put the washers, but maybe you can explain a bit more? I'm willing to try anything at this point! ;)

Thanks alot PaulPDX, the help is greatly appreciated!

Sandwich the washers between the roof and the latch to shim the latch down. Just about everyone has the same problem. Lots of posts on the topic here and on dsmtalk.com. A new seal supposedly helps too.

Well see, I'm gonna try to explain this without being confusing or anything...

My latch if you were to push it fully to the close position, the latch would work perfect. For some reason, on my latch there isn't any pressure to hold it in the "CLOSED" position fully. If I press the rear of the open/close handle and apply pressure, it sits exactly how it should.

I don't have a properly working DSM sunroof latch to check out, so I don't know how it is actually supposed to stay closed...

Washers in the place you described will not help my problem. My problem is that there is no pressure to keep it in the closed position. Reguardless, I'm going to try the washers. i really appreciate all this help your providing me with - its really helping me out.

Thanks again for all your time! :)
