Algonquin,
i drove back to school on sun, radio was working fine.. drive again today and it doesn't work.

its an alpine unit.. 7893 think.

i check the radio fuse and the inline power fuse both are fine.

what else could it be..??

You check to see if it is grounding out or if one of the speakers is grounding out? Also check to see if it is getting power...

what does grounding out mean? how do i check for that?

i'll prolly go buy a volt meter and check the power situtation.

ok i got a volt meter today and tested out the power situation.. its all good. constant power is there and so is ignition, and ground is good.

i test the connections on the radio.. battery pwr, ignition pwr , ground.. all good.

so does that mean the my radio is f#cked up or what else could be wrong.. ???

anyone know?

Like someone said, check if it's grounding out. A few months ago, mine deck would come on and the subs would play but none of the mid's and high's. I had a wire grounding out underneath my back seat. Took it out, and it's all good now :thumb:

well i get nohting.. no power at all.. the display doesn't even light up or show any signs off life.

are there any other fuses that are assocaited w/ the radio.. i only checked the radio uder the hood and the fuse in the batter lead.

so i went to get my radio tested at shop.. they said the power supply if fried. they said it might've been from my alternator give it to much power or soemthing and told me to get my alternator tested. because if i put in a new radio same thing will happen

so iwent to autozone and they tested it and it gave out 14volts and peak .9amps... which is low they said and told that my amp might've messed up my alternator. and the radio going bad wouldn't be from the alternator.

so now i'm really confused can anyone help me out here please??

can anyone help!! i don't know if i should get a new radio or alternator or both??
