Someone on these forums bought the led light kits from some online store for like 60 bucks or something. It comes with 4 small needles and 2 bigneedles for your speedo. someone give me the link!!

I just orderd some indiglows off of ebay. They are blue with like a red part to them. They look really sweet and I think im going to order the hyper red IntelliGlow Needle Kit. It should offset the red in the gauges nicely.

Does any one know how these are actually "hooked up" into my talon? These are something worth buying.:thumb: :talon:

I think that you get new clear needles and then there is a light attatchment for each needle as well. I emailed Import Intelligence and asked them EXACTLY how they worked and have yet to get a response. I will post the contents of their email as soon as they reply.

The needles are clear stock, they just have red paint on the back. You have to take the needles off, scrape them clean, and paint the back in white, with testors model paint or something.

How they hookup...They are a little flat LED. They are on this paper backing stuff that blocks the light from the bulbs that are back there stock. ANd then the light from the LED's (3 for the big needles, 2 for the little ones) shines out the needles and form the center of the hub.

Import Intelligence <[email protected]> wrote:

The kit consists of a set of low profile carbon fiber light rings that use laser LED's embedded in the CF. The lights shine a bright and focused light up into the base of the needle making them illuminate like the ones on the website. Each kit comes with a controller and instructions. All the components in the kit are low voltage so there will be no hum associated with popular indiglo products.

I replied:

Does the kit come with new needles and can they be turned on/off? How long do they last?

No, you use the stock needles. They are made of clear lexan, so they will light up themselves. You can wire them into the any light (such as the taillight fuse, or the stock dimmer) fuse so they will turn on with the headlight. The control box is a dimmer so you can adjust the intesnsity of the light shining through the needles.

I see that there's blue lighting behind the gauge faces. Is that from the led in the needle?

Yea, my red ones look exaclty the same when my cluster bulbs arent turned on.

Just got mine in the mail today...since everybody's always asking what exactly they are & there's no pictures anywhere of them.....pics:

The little 'circle' things on the end of the tiny wires is where the LEDs are. The big needles get the one with 3 little leds on them, the little needles get the ones with 1 little led. Sorry for the crappy pic quality..camera phone's all I got.

i am half retarded 96 talon tsi what exactly was what you bought called i want my gauges to look exactly like yours

SlowTalon - I bought the red intelliglow needle kit (2x big and 4x little) and a red/black gauge overlay kit. The numbers light up in the stock orange color, but the red glow of the needles that washes over everything gives it a red tinge.

badboy - Yes, you have to remove the needle to install the kit. The LED sits on a little peice of plastic or paper or something(blocks light from the stock bulbs), and the LED shines up into the needle, casting a glow up the needle and over the whole cluster.
