Do they sell something that can hold the plate to the front of the car without having to drill into the bumper?

IDK, maybe suction cups? really good ones!
dont put it up there anyway. just put it on the dash, so you can see it through the windshield like this.

that is my buddies rps13!!:thumb:

i wish the guy who had the car before me had done this. because now i have 2 bigass holes in my front bumper and i cant do anything about it! it sucks
but no matter waht dont put holes in your bumper!;)

John i ran into the same problem. And i found that zip ties were a quick fix for mine. Then again i don't have a FMIC. I dunno how you could do it without blocking the IC.

My 95 talon's plate holder bolted to the bottom-side of the fiberglass bumper, and thus no drilling in the visible portions of the bumper cover. Never tried to use this on my 99 GSX though. If you wanna buy it pm me.

on my Porsche i made a bracket that attached form under the bumoer or an opening in it, so when u take it off the holes are out of site

Well it's not for my car so you don't have to worry about a FMIC. As long as it's legal to have it on the dash that may be the way to go. I'll look at the bumper again and see what can be done, I just didn't know if anyone had done it.

Mine had the holes in the bumper when I bought it, stupid Ohio its so dumb to require the front lisence plate IMHO

I did a quick-and-dirty using a couple of those rubber-covered wire loom tie-downs around the power steering cooler. I'd read on one site that someone else's zip-ties had melted. Because the cooler has a jog in it, I put one "up" and one "down". The bottom is just held by the inside of the mouth. I don't know what issues would arise on years other than the '95 carpmouth.

I've also read that it works nicely to invert the stock holder.

I'd use nylon electrical hole plugs to plug bumper holes, but mine hadn't been raped.

There have been no cooling issues in the Central Valley's hellish 115°F summer.

Dunno about AZ but i asked a cop around here if it was legal. He said it's not one of those things that's a big deal but if a cop wants an excuse to pull you than they can do it.

My license plate bracket bolts to the under side of the bumber and there is rubber stops behind the bracket so it does not scratch the paint.

front plates suck to have on!!!

but once you get busted twice, you learn to live with it! :)

I live in New York. We're suppose to have them, but I take my chances. It kinda depends on the towns you drive through around here. Some are dicks, some aren't. I had holes but got them filled when I got my car painted.

Don't know everything, but 8 out of 10 places you're at will ticket ya' for puttin' your plate in the windshield...I got pulled over for it last weekend, but no ticket...(professional courtesy...he he he)...but if there's any room on the bottom side of your intake "mouth"...punch a couple holes in there and use zip ties...if you want it there for good. If not, most license plate tickets are "fix-it" tickets...so you could jury rig it for an hour...get it signed off...and rip the sucker back off. And just for the cop haters...there really are cool ones out there...I speed, race, run "yellowish" lights...be nice to them and chances are good they'll return the favor.

Neuspeed makes a little strip thing for covering the holes...its up on their website...kinda pricey for it tho...and ricey if ya dont have neuspeed anything on your car..ive got the holes too, so ive been lookin around for a while for somethin to cover em up..

yeah new york sucks, all my cars have the stupid front plates on them, I tried the window thing and seriously 25 minutes later on my way to work bam ticket, they make you just fix it like the one guy said and write it off, but its such a pain in the ass. I have the factory front bumper on my car now but if I keep it and get a body kit I gotta figure something out.

I filled the holes on my 99 by using two little plastic pop-rivets that normally go in those triangular covers for the side-view mirrors (the rivets hold the covers in place). I had to drill the holes in the bumper just a bit wider, but then they just popped in. I painted the rivets using some touch-up paint I have. A lazy bum solution and doesn't look as nice as an un-drilled/molested bumper cover, but it does ok.

no offense, but i would NEVER put my front license plate on my dash, i was told by a local officer that my father is good friends with that if you were ever to get in a accident, imagine how fast it is flying around in the car and how sharp the edges are....someone will almost definetly get cut!

or lose a head!

i remember hearing something drivers ed about 8 years ago... something like this: during an accident the driver was decapitated by a box of kleenex that was on the back dash of their car when they got into the accident. the force of that small, lightweight box flying forward upon hitting the other car was enough to take off their head.

now imagine a license plate with sharp edges. i guess it wouldn't hurt as much though. right?!?

My cousin's uncle's son's buddy heard of a guy who knew someone that was trying to buy a Corvette for $200 because someone had died in it and the stink got into the fiberglass...

No, a box of tissue won't decapitate. Not even in a 200MPH tornado.

Nor is much of any the other horseshit they tell you in driver's ed true.

Meanwhile, the factory does make a front plate holder than mounts under the bumper on those three bolts, and holds the plate away from the bumper.

Until some driver's ed student backs into you while parking.

i know, all u guys hate hondas, but i used to own a 94' ex coupe. and i absolutely hated havin' it on. so none the less, i took it off. had the same problem with the holes bein' there, so of course i went to my local honda dealership and they had mentioned these plugs u can buy. and sure shit, they had em'. color matched to the car. i think i paid like 5 bucks for em'.

but let me tell you, they work great. dependin' on what kind of hole u have in the front bumper, u could probably just cut the stems off, and glue em' over the holes. and cause there matched to honda colors, u could just get the closest spray paint, and paint em. it will be a honda product, but u can't f*ckin' tell. there just plain plugs with some paint on em.
