Does anyone have this gauge, I have a question about it...

And where can I find a constant 12v power source, i know the ignition wire is 1, but is there anything easier to get too?. thanks ALOT!

You could use either Pin #102 or #103 on the ECU. Or you could run a wire from the fuse box or from the battery. Which ever is easier for you. :thumb:

How can i run a wire from the fuse box?

If i run a wire from the ecu, can i also run a ground wire? thanks!

Use a circuit tester and test for a fuse that has a constant power and simply run a wire from that.

It would be possible, but honestly, how hard would it be for you to make your own ground? You can run a ground wire off of anything metal.....

Umm... the guy asking the questions has a 1G. Make sure you're not giving him answers that are only valid for 2Gs. Not saying you are... but he doesn't realize it, he could tap the wrong wires and mess things up really bad.

I am quite aware that he drives a 1G, and so I answered his questions for a 1G. Thank you for your concern. :dsm:

anything metal that is grounded :p every single metal piece on the car isnt grounded. i only say this because if he needs THIS much help hooking up a clock then he may try to ground to somthing that wont work.

Good call. :thumb: Most of the metal in the car is grounded, but definately make sure first. :dsm:

the only thing i needed help for was finding something that has constant 12v as I POSTED.

the grounding question. was 2 make it easier since i was already dealing with the ECU. get my point?!?

constant 12vpower source....... wouldnt the wires that hook up to teh Cigarette lighter be a good idea...?u have a cobnstant 12v there when the car is runing(a 12v source without the car running wouldt make sense, since u only need the guage when ur driving..right?)

use the cig lighter, run wires behind it and just tap it...

I think the lighter only works with the key to the "on" position.

If he intends to have a stereo at some point... or already has one... best to just run a power cable into the cabin and install a distribution block, he can then connect anything that needs a constant source to the block.

not really, its a clock guage... in that case.. the clock needs to keep going.. ull never have the correct time if not.
