how hard and expensive would it be 2 take off molded side skirts?

I wouldnt even try it. It's too hard to say how much because I've seen several different ways to mold the sides. Mine took a professional body shop 12 hrs. per side to mold on. And they arent coming off..... ever.

if you yank and pull... most likely its going to break off and not just pop off...you'd destroy the sideskirt in the process.... you'd probably want to sand off all around the edges to find where the urethane (or fiberglass) meet the metal and then just keep shaving it down with a powersander.... eventually you should have gone all around it and then start prying with a flathead screw driver
i would imagine it would pop off and you would be able to sell or reuse the sideskirt.

oh and i also remembered that most body shops will pop rivet them into your car and then smooth them off with fiberglass or body filler... you might have to find where these are and drill through them to detach the skirt

good luck man. i have to agree with 99gst_racer! A Pro body shop did mine and i wouldnt even want to think about taking on this task. i'm sure its possible but it will be one hell of a headache!

They are screwed and epoxied to the body panels. You'd probably destroy the skirt and bend the bodypanels trying to remove them.

Yeah thats how mine are. Screwed on, pop riveted, and expoxied. It wouls fu*k up alot of sh*t if I tried removing them. Usually molded stuff is installed with the intentions of never coming off. You could try, but you're better off not. Just curious....... Why do you want to remove molded sideskirts??

I was thinking on removing them b/c i bought the car with them allready molded and i was wondering how hard it would be to take them off. I am kind of scared that i might crack them while i am driving. So I figured i'd take them off.

Leave them on. :thumb: Esp. is they look good. If they were molded correctly, then they wont crack. You would probably mess alot more of the car up trying to remove them, as opposed to driving it. If they crack, fix it. But I would leave molded sideskirts on. Unless you want the hastle, body damage, and empty pockets. :dsm:
