Ok .....I have a 98 eclipse rs......have no clue what motor....all I know is that its a 2.0 nt. I have a aem cold air intake and a r-active exaust cat back(no cat). I hear about all these guys going online and buying already upgraded engines from Japan. Is that possible to do ? Just drop a newer faster engine in my rs? I was also told by a friend that it would be more cost effective to just rebuild and beef my engine via bigger pistons, bored heads, cylinders , throttle body. I want to beat preludes damnit! I got beat last night by a prelude, not by far but beat! Someone please help. I just bought a blitz urethane kit and put it on. Car looks fast but no where near as fast as it looks. Tired of people always pulling up to lights and me having to wonder if I should race or not.

Your friend was right, if you want to do something like put a turbo on your gonna need to rebuild the bottom end. It all depends on what your long term goals are though. There is no such thing as an engine swap for our cars. Only "swap" is by dropping in the 2.4 420A which a few people are working on right now. Otherwise that's it....if all you want to do in life is beat Preludes then you can just slap a bottle on there and you should be good, otherwise start saving your pennies and start the turbo fund:thumb:
