I'm starting to take things off of my motor to get it ready for removal. After removing the air filter and Star piping from the compressor air inlet I could see there was quite a bit of dirt on the compressor wheel. Does this simply mean that my air filter is shite? It looks pretty ricey, it's a "Hiper Air Intake System" (came with the kit), but nevertheless this means that dirt was getting past the filter the whole time.. not helping the engine situation one bit

Anyone else have dirty compressor wheels?

Define dirty. Do you have any pics? Is there white residue? Anyhow you look at it if your air filter is not quality then get a good one. Is yours a K&N filter?

Define dirty? Common kirby, I know you're a technical guy but it's just plain dirt man!! I think it has a 10% perlite compound and a PH level of.. JK. Seriously, it's just a small layer of dirt on each fin of the compressor wheel, no white, and it comes off with just a slight wipe of a tissue. This was moreso a warning to others to make sure their filters are doing the job they are supposed to. And the filter isn't K&N, it is a "Hiper" unit that came with the Star kit - and I presumed would be worthy to tag along with the rest of the kit. Obviously not, so the filter is now a pen holder in my room and a new K&N is sitting in the garage waiting to filter out the bad stuff.

No pictures of the dirt :( A digital camera for Christmas is on the way though!
