Is the tdo4 good for the 420A?

the 420a can only handle 350 hps on low millage moters stock so if you plan on shooting 15 psi at it. plan on a new motor cause you can kiss you vavles good bye the stock valves are not that good when they have a lot of miles on them. i didnt change mine and i had 256 miles on my rebuilt engine and one went it destroied my brand new je piston and the head. it also left me stranded on the side of the road. so just be carefull when you build your motor or if you leave it stock and justboosst the crap out of it if gets spend on a gs and rs good luck to you

ugh,i said nothing about 15lbs on a stock motor,i said the turbo would put out a good 15lbs,after that its out of efficency range. it also depends
alot on the trim of the compressor wheel, the wheels for the tdo4 are :
9b
13g
14t
15g
15t
18t
19t

maybe more, but nothing that comes to mind..

I hate to break it to you chief but Hahn ran a 10.87 1/4 mile on a stock head with much boost and some nitrous. I highly doubt they could do that if the head was a weak point. It sounds like you had a problem before you put in your new block. I run 18psi daily on a completly stock head (with over 100k miles on it BTW). Plus with only 256 miles on the rebuilt block you shouldn't have been boosting it at all so that shouldn't even be a factor anyway. Your problem must have already been there or it must have been something you messed up on with the rebuild. But there should be no issues with your valves because of turbo.

allright lising here how did you know if i was boosting or not i wasnt i didnt boost on my moter until i had 1500 miles on it and another thing if your head has 118,000 on the two piece valves in your head are going to be weak i here you there but i am just trying to help others so they dont have to go throught what i went throught and the other thing my moter has been beat from the kid that owned the car before me when i bought it. it had a broken rocker arm and hahns told me that i could run a stock head but this could happen to any one so it is just a saftey precaution. so it is the persons option if they want to listen or not alright so get off my ass

In all friendliness, have you heard of 'spell check' GS--T Sleeper :D No offense but it makes it twice as hard to read a post and understand what is being said when every word is mutilated. Kirby definately knows what he's talking about when it comes to the 420a, as you might also, but he is just trying to make sure the right information is out there. Funny how tempers always flare here, with stuff like "Listen Chief" or "Are you stupid?", and other sharp-tongued phrases.. It's obvious why our N/T - Turbo Conversion forum has been dead lately.

Can't we all just get a bong?

And the 420a head is very good, yes :) If only the bottom end was as durable! Just blew my motor and thinking about selling it and buying my friends project 94' Supra. It's missing the turbo system and the wheels but has all the supporting mods already installed to go single turbo. I am very, very tempted needless to say! That car will be the death of me though.

It was bound to go out after all the abuse it has gone through, and a couple of 11psi races :D I was sick of always having that worry whenever I was under full bost while using stock internals.. now I won't have to worry anymore! eheh, plus i can crank up that boost when I get the larger injectors! Hope to get in the consistant mid 12's on my street tires :thumb:

 supra

Nice RS, 96EclipseRyder, once you boost it you will see God - and soon after a rebuilt motor like me :D
