is this even possible? a friend of mine wants to do the turbo conversion, and i said i would do it(for a fee of course). however, after searching and seeing that no one has posted about autos and 2g's, im starting to doubt that its a good idea... he doesnt want to do a new motor, but how much would a used turbo engine cost compared to converting the nt to turbo.

thanks, josh

Well if you do a search, you will find many threads that will inform you that putting a 4G63 into an NT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!! So the only option left is to slap an HRC or Star kit on there....As far as why there aren't many threads involving turbos and automatics....it's like anything else. Most people that are looking for performance, either NT or boosted, prefer to have a manual tranny. You can do it no problem, you'll just have the same issue as you do amongst the NT crowd, it'll be slower than the manuals.

i wont flame you on askin that but if you do a search in this forum you will see a lot of threads askin almost the same question. i dont remember the exact reasons why but this swap is near impossible:dsm:

im auto and i did it to my car. definately a worth while investment
just build that tranny with better torque converter, final drive gear, stuff like that. i highly reccomend getting a transmission cooler

thanks LOL, i did a search but it only came up with 1g swap info, which looks easy. ill reccomend that the guy sell his car and buy a 1g then, because not only are the 1g's better, but i personally like the looks more. ill just suggest that he buy a 1g. 1g's rule LOL.
