Brandon,
Hey, is EVERYTHING included in the Hahn Stage II kit? Or is somthing else needed? I don't want to miss out on somthing important
Thanks,
A.J.

missing link. i heard several people say to get it. ive heard others say that you dont need it, but i got it just incase. 55 bucks. worth it considering your paying 3000 for a hahn kit

missing link isnt really needed, but recomended. The FCD that some people got work and they use them, guess its a coin toss though.

The kit comes with all the essentials to turbo charge your car. Of course though, there are some things that you could get to make your car better like gauges...vortech sfmu....bigger fuel injectors....fuel pump ...blah blah and the list goes on

That is a huge negative, the kit will come with EVERYTHING you need to do it. You need buy nothing more, at all. An EGT gauge is nice but not required if you are staying at the stock wastegate boost and follow Hahn's tuning instruction to a T. Don't listen to people with NA cars about Turbo installs, how the hell would they know???

Hah, good times.
How about the Hahn exhaust? Is it cool or what?

get an egt and a/f gauge, missing link, sfmu, ngk bkr7e plugs, and your good.

you dont *need* those items, but should have them. the sfmu is almost a necessity, unless you like adjusting fuel pressure every time you start the car.

Maybe you didn't read this part

i consider all the items i listed as necessary. if you want things done correctly anyway. but thats just me.

and justin, if that was directed towards me, let me know what you think when you install your turbo kit...

No, it wasn't directed towards you:)

Hahn exhaust is rather expensive. If you find the right person you could probably do it much cheaper.

Yea, I know. But there is just somthing about it that appeals to me, I can't quite put my finger on it though. I guess its all about preference.
Thanks for your help, guys.

MY KIT DIDN'T COME WIT A BOOST GAUGE. AND AN AIR FUEL GAUGE IS PRETTY WORTHLESS (HAHN TECH GUY TOLD ME HIMSELF) BECAUSE ITS NOT REALLY THAT ACCURATE. OUR O2 SENSORS ARE PRETTY INACCURATE. AS LONG AS YOUR RUNNIN A CERTASIN AMOUNT OF FUEL PRESSURE WIT THE MATCHIN BOOST THATS IN THE MANUAL U'LL BE FINE

What? I thought HRC came w/ a boost gauge? I gotta watch my boost...

hey you guys keep sayin that you will need a missing link to turbo up a car......what is a missing link??????

i installed the stage three turbo system fromn hahns it was the best thing i ever did i was thinking about the star kit but i got the hahns kit with everything you need the only thing that is missing in my car is a fuel management system but i run 15 psi on the street and keep right next to a corvette zo6!!!!! but my motor is built. the third stage sends you je pistions, crower rods, ignition from crane with a map sensor and retart switch, profec b boost controller, greddy type s bov, thermal reaserch and development cat back, booster fuel pump, fuel regulator system, a piller gauge pod, autometter, boost gauge, super 16 g turbo, manifold, i also upgraded to the tight looking front mount intercooler, the piping is awsome and a turbo filter. but if you are going to rebuild your motor make sure you change your valves all of them it is important i threw a valve on my new motor with only 256 miles on it!!!!!!!! was not happy  but other wise when my car gets to normal operating temp hold on to yourself because i can smoke the tires at 60 mph going down the freeway. it is pure adreniline but strongly recomend using hahns!!!!!!!!! i am very happy i did i just need a fuel management and i can run 30 psi with a new clutch from them because i ate my brand new centerforce stage two there is to much hp in my car. so do what you want but dont go star you cant keep upgrading like hahns. they now have 7 stages!!!!!!! weee haaa

no bad comment here for hahns they are pretty damn good not to bash star that is not what i am trying to do i just hope this helps and happy boosting :thumb:

You can upgrade star all you want. You just buy the parts you want to run rather than paying for a new Staged upgrade. The only difference between your kit and my "kit" is your electronic boost controller and my bigger turbo, stage 3 axles, and quaife LSD, and my 8 inj. setup (a stand alone system for fuel) I also don't have the timing retard for the crane. Other than that our mods are the same or of equal quality. Hahn is not the only way to go, but they are a great company with great techs and all of that. But I have probaly paid less, or just a little over what you have paid and I'm betting I got more for my money. As for the valves, that is an issue that YOUR car has had, nobody else has had an issue like that, that I know of anyway. Hahn ran a 10.87 1/4 mile on a stock head and stock valves, running high boost and nitrous, on a stock head. That had to be a pre-existing issue with your car. I run 18psi daily on a stock head with more than 100K miles on it and I have no valve issues. You DO NOT NEED to upgrade your valves to make power, but you do need to make sure your engine is in good working order.

i am not treying to bash star but i dont want to see anyone else go throught what i went through with my valves and destroied my brand new pistion. you have to figure the head is at the machine shop anyways getting decked so it is easy for them to put new valves it then in steed of tearing the engin down again but i also have a 5 layer race grind on my valves and you dont so air flows faster. not trying to be adick but i looked into star had one on order and they screwed me and didnt send it to me. so i canceled and called up hahns and was just asking them questions. and he through a list together faxed to me and i liked what i saw it had more options than the star kit to and at hahns you dont have to buy the stages together you can buy individual items. so i am not trying to argue with you i am just letting everyone know what my opinion is. so your car is fast but so is mine. so are we cool?

ps. wondering were you got stage three axles at i need them i have been burning throught the stock. and what is a good fuel management system to run just wondering? i am also sorry if i offended anyone with the dont go star line. it is probably just as good. later

I'm not saying don't get the head checked out, I'm just saying that valve problems are not common with either kit. I'm also not saying that Hahn is a bad company, I love Hahn they have even consluted me a few times and I own a star kit. Hahn surly kicks ass, But they are more expensive. With the Hahn kit you do have to upgrade items that you would not have to with star, like FMIC the turbo, and others. I'm not a hahn basher though I love those guy's. I;m also not denying that your car is fast so yes we are cool. Hahn has the fastest time of a FWD DSM period, faster than GST's and TSI's. A lot of their customers are VERY VERY fast cars, but do a lot of stars. It really all comes down to your knowledge level, budget, and prefrences (spool up time and such). My axles are from www.driveshaftshop.com I run the 8 injector setup, which is basicly a standalone system for fuel. There is info about it here www.2gnt.com It consists of 4 extra injectors added to the manifold and tuned via laptop to provide the proper fuel under boost. In closing I understand you had a bad experience with Star, but there are others who had a bad experience with Hahn, everyone makes mistakes though. So you have 2 options for kits and either one you chose your cool in my book because your moding your car.

How do you upgrade a Star; for example the turbo or fuel system etc.
I know with hrc you go from s16g to 20g or 25g. Whats the next step up for Stars t3/t4. I know this sounds like a noob question, but lately ive been thinking about star kit, but I wouldnt plan on keeping the t3 turbo for too long...

The star turbo is a turbonetics t3/t4. Fairly good turbo. To upgrade that just swap out the whole turbo the same as you would with the Hahn kit. The problem is that many people don't bother to look at the turbo stats before they upgrade. Ideally you would want a turbo with good spool up time that at the max boost you plan to run is right in it's best efficiency range. I'm sure somewhere on the forums there's an article about reading compressor maps for turbos on this and that's what I woudl do to upgrade the Star kit's t3/t4. Same principle just you ahve to go someplace to get the turbo.

And I don't know if this was answered but the Missing Link is basically a valve that you insert the MAP sensor into and it's designed to mechanically mimic the conditions a map sensor would normally see.

go here for their justification of why to use a Missing Link over voltage clamping and make your own choice :thumb:

i have a question for all of you. my pcv is always going out and i shoot oil ot of the hose off the cam cover i have replaced 2 in two months. why is it doing that? and how can i fix it so it does not conti.

got mine in the mail FINALLY and, you will want a Boost Gauge. I have an EGT Gauge and am getting a Boost gauge for the installation aswell.

And the obvious, aftermarket exhaust, wish I had 3inch but oh well, 2/5inch is better than stock
