I'm a newb and a 17 year old wanting a turbo but can't afford the insurance. After a few day's of reading you know what, Holy crap I think I got it all. In order to run the 8-10 psi I want to make 320 or so hp with the upgrades I believe that I have composed a list that will keep me from blowen cracking or breaking the block. I know there are kits like motofools that have some of the listed parts in the kit but, I just wanted to be sure I got the main idea of what I needed. I really want veteran 420a tunre's advice.

-missing link
-vorteck sfmu: (is there a better or cheaper etc?)
-dis-2 ignition: (is there a better or cheaper etc?)
-440cc ingectors: ( is this the best cc size?)
-rods
-rod bearings
-oil and water pump
-pistons: (best compression ratio?)
-nesecary gaskets and seals
-apex'1 safc
-nesacary guages boost, et etc.
-Hahn, motofool kit etc.(Stage II)

Also would I need to do any head work at all (valves, cams etc.) or can the stock head setup handle. If I left any nesecary item out please by all means correct me. I'm about to invest more money than I have in my whole life and I want to do it right. MY GOAL IS TO WAIST MY DAD'S 67 396 CHEVELLE. Lighter weight is a beatiful thing.
When I said I was a newb I meant it. Every time I type in safc or sfmu I get the abbrevation which I have no idea what it means. If some one would write me a list or direct me to a forum that explains the abbervations, all of them, it would be greatly appericated.

Ohh yeah, almost forgot one of the best things. I'm leaning towards the Apexi N1 catback and, a high-flow cat.

safc-super air fuel controller

try getting JE forged pistons and crower or eagle rods, those will help out alot when raising ur boost above 7. im not sure about everything u can port on a NT, i dont really mod mine, but on my gsx, porting had a decent turn out. i think u can port ur cylinder heads and turbo. idk if clipping is a good idea for nT, neway, yeah good luck.

also on a side note if ur about to spend ur life savings on a turbo kit and forged internals, not saying its a bad idea but is it a wise choice to spend ur life savings on ur car? just my 2 cents.

i forgot to add u might want to complete most of the "stage 1" mods to your car before u slap on the turbo kit so ull get the most u can get from it.

You are on the right path. No head work is needed, but you can do turbo cams with a LIGHT port and polish job. You will not be at that power level with just 8-10 psi though even with a star kit.

sounds good and if you want any help with it all, give me a call. i live in fort wayne as well. might want to check out the local fort wayne club dsm website as well. and if you want my cell # just drop me a pm and i'll give it.
