a local shop is sellin a gst engine includin a manual tranny and everythin else for $1,800. i kno it is a great price but they dont kno how much miles it has on it. i want to kno if it will fit my gs which has an automatic tranny and is it a good buy for $1,800? Also how hard and how long will it probably take to swap the engines?

well, you should have searched....

but, since you didnt, i will be the bearer of bad news.... it is virtually impossible unless you have thousands (probably around 6k just for the install). this type of swap wouldnt be similar at all to lets say a vtec swap for a honda...

in fact, the 2g turbo chassis is a completely different chassis code than the 2gnt chassis...

if you want that kind of power, turbo kit is the way to go....

IT CAN NOT BE DONE unless you have a lot of money(5000$) it would be cheaper and less of a hassle to get a turbo kit and re-build, We have bad ass motors and there is no point to get rid of it. Why spend 5000$ plus on getting a stock 210hp motor when you can turbo and re-build and have twice that. THink about it, do some looking aroud and you will find that this has been discuessed plenty of times before.

I think that's what you were asking, but I may be wrong. I think the problem would be the tranny. Auto to manual would be tough.

that's how to swap in a 1g turbo engine into a 2g turbo car. he wants a turbo motor (any year) stuck into a 2g nt.
