hey guys.

for those of you that have a star turbo kit... i need help hooking up my fuel cut defenser. it didnt come with instructions, so ive been running without it installed. my map sensor has been going insane as a result and my check engine light has been on (i have pulled map, lean, and 02 sensor codes)

if someone could post instructions on how to install the fuel cut defenser i would be extremely grateful.

:dsm:

yeah i know...but i know for a fact that im getting enough fuel, cause my buddy hooked up his pocketlogger and we drove for a while with it, and all looked good. the only thing i want it for is to prevent these codes from continuously popping up.

anyone with instructions or know-how on this would be appreciated

:dsm:

if the fuel cut defenser isn't on, you should be hitting fuel cut when you achieve positive manifold pressure. i wouldn't drive it till you get that installed. also, i would check your spark plugs.. if they are white in any way, stop driving.

thanks siue... do you know anybody that could help me out with directions for the fuel cut defenser?

does anybody have a missing link installed? if so, could you post up directions and/or tell how complicated it was?

thanks :dsm:

Some one should do a write up on how to install the STAR kit because the directions are crap. and if there was a write up on this site it would be alot eaiser for a lot of people.IS ANY BODY GOING TO DO IT??? who knows, but this site need one.

i second that motion, unfortunately, i dont have the time to do it (too much work). but seriously, my buddies and i were flyin blind when we installed the kit.

Well I just got a copy of the Hahn directions and went from those. As for the Missing Link, there are no wires, you just unbolt the map sensor, insert it into one end of the ML then bolt it back in with the bolts they provide. I will tell you though a lot of people have had to drill out the bolt holes a little to get the holes to line up with the ones in the manifold. So before you start tightining those bolts make sure they are lined up right.

ok, im glad i dont have to solder anything, although easy, its a pain in the ass to me.

i cant wait till it comes in. should improve my vacuum to boost transition (the only thing that happens is i get a little "hiccup")

should also get rid of the lean code too cause the hiccup is caused by a minutely brief fuel cut (im actually running overly rich most of the time, so i am safe). :dsm:
