i need some help picking out a new clutch for my star turboed GS. i dont plan on running any higher than 10-12psi within the life of the clutch, so it doesnt have to be insane or anything. any and all suggestions are appreciated. i kinda need to watch how much i spend on this too, but i dont want to put crap on my car either, cause that catches up...

thanks

If all you want to run is 10-12 pounds for the rest of your life I would say a stock clutch or a CM stage 2 but if you plan on running more boost to get more power in the future than get a higger stage like a CM stg.3

Yeah you have to plan on how high you want to go. If you are planning to run that boost I assume you are already built on the bottom correct? Why buy one clutch to turn around and buy a better one later. IF you know you are going to be a HP freak get the big dog now, and just rebuild it when it goes. For example: You buy a stage 3 clutch now and thats a couple of hundred bucks ($400-500 If I remember correctly) then when you want to get serious you get a stage 4 ($700-900) You should just buy the clutch you will need now, and if the disk goes out then you just buy a new disk ($250-300) rather than the whole unit again. So what do you think you will run in the future? I have a stage 4 clutch for sale from clutchmasters, so If your going to go high HP in the future then let me know, and I will sell you all the clutch you need.

does ACT make a clutch for the 420A??? it says they do on the parts catalog portion of the forum... so where can i buy one?

also, what about sachs racing??? i cant find a place to buy this either, and my buddy has one on his 944, and it is incredible and definitely cheaply priced for what he got...

thanks for the help guys

Act does not make anything for the 420a. Sachs is the company that made your stocker, and I don't know of any upgrades from that company. Basicly your looking at a custom clutch or clutchmasters. You do have centerforce, and a few others, but I have heard they are total crap. Even if you don't buy mine, I honestly believe that the clutchmasters is the only way to go.
