ok.. well.. here is what i currently have...

hahn stage 2 + fmic
310cc injectors

this is what im doing right now...

bored motor 20 over
je pistons
eagle rods
limited slip differential
cam gears
under drive crank pulley
2.5" turbo back exhaust
pulley set
motor mounts

this is what i should do in the future...
oversized valves
better valve springs
cams
probably larger injectors

car should be done on friday. i plan to run about 15lbs of boost at first, then after awhile i might turn it up some and see what i can get out of it. i was thinking about running nitrous but im not sure if i want to run that way or not.

any suggestions on what i could do after this point? i know i need better brakes, but im speaking more along the lines of the motor. axles would be nice, but damn those are expensive. (not like i haven't spent enough money anyway).

what would you recommend i run for boost with this setup? how much hp to the wheels do you think im going to see? do you have any thoughts about this setup and where i should be taking it?

thanx
James

You have to do a break in period on the internals before you just run straight up boost (I've heard 1500 miles is a pretty safe number) so I'd make sure you've read up on that (if you haven't already :D )

That's all I have to say

you need to break in the motor first, and then after this 15 is possible.. but what about fuel? are you still using the hahn fpr? I have heard other things are needed from hahn to run that high of boost. How about your ignition? fcd?
Nitrous and 15lbs of boost seems a little to much.. I have used nitrous and believe me its not all its cracked up to be. if you want to use nitrous just up the boost, its almost like the same thing.

IMO I would only use nitrous if you were using a big turbo and needed the extra kick to help spool it up at the lower RPMs, otherwise i agree with BD and just up the boost. Soon as teh turbo spools you're gone. As for running 15 psi, you'll probably need some sort of fuel management, and then see how well your current ignition system works with that, if it's running rich upgrade the ignition components.

I haven't rebuilt my engine yet. I've got a block that I'm slowly doing work on as my money trickles in. I like the kit though, aside from some fitment issues i think it's a pretty strong platform to build from. I'm actually considering selling my car for a '94 Supra twin turbo a buddy of mine is selling so i don't know if I'll ever actually build it up or not. Maybe one day haha

Sorry Siu,

You didn't make mention of it so I wasn't sure if you were planning to pick it up and bump the boost up - would be a very expensive mistake :D

Just check into what BD/me were saying (since we said the same stuff in different ways). If you want I can try and contact this guy I know who had a Hahn Kit running around 15psi and see what mods he had to do in addition to the engine buildup to get there

a guy on 2gnt.com is running 18lbs daily which is like a stage 3 or 4. Hahn says the following things are needed to run 15lbs of boost or higher...

1) forged internals (check)
2)Forged rods (check)
3) 500cc injectors (kinda check since u run 310 right?)
4)Hahn powerfuel module (do you have this?) what exactly is it?
5)Hahn ignition amplifier (a msd ignition would work nicely)
6) 92 or 93 octane.. (does anyone get that at the pump)
7) aftermarket clutch (u have one right?)
8) catback exhaust
9)also says stage three will boost you into the 13sec to high 12 sec range with 300hp possible.. DAAAMMMMNNN!!!!!!!

stage four and five get crazy with mid 11 sec times possible.. man, fast, fast, fast.. looks like its not to difficult to upgrade your kit to a 12 sec car. good luck siueclipse, spank some tsi's :thumb:

10) 20g turbo for stage 5

tons of people don't agree with the upgraded ignition. i talked to their tech support and they said that an iginition system really isn't needed till you break 500hp. i have a stage 3 clutchmasters clutch and am going to put on a 2.5" turbo back exhaust.

but damn high 12s? shheeeeiiiitttttt

IMO get a 3" cat back, the added flow will only help once you're looking to boost to 15psi. How much did the forged internals kit cost? (I forgot the name D'OH!). If I don't sell my car this will be the next step for me.

I say lets have a wiseman answer this one. With 310cc's 15lbs on just a built motor isn't possible. Believe it or not while they are a great upgrade for stage 2 systmes, you need at least 440cc injectors to run 15psi on the street with your setup. Also I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest you invest in a Vortech SFMU to control idle, Static, and WOT fuel pressures.

i know the 310s are not enough, however, before i was running so rich, that my car was misfiring. maybe in some strange way things will work out. we will just have to see.

i have the car leaned out as much as possible right now and its still way too rich.

Do not even attempt 15psi on the standerd stage 2 fuel system even with the 310's you would be saying goodbye to all those pretty parts. Things will not just work out. You will need to work on the fuel system, and you should get a 3 inch cat back if you want to make real power. You have a few options on the fuel system, 8 inj setup, Han's accel DFI componets, SAFC w/larger injects & SFMU (but this will mess with your timing if you lean too much with the afc) You will not need an ignition at your level, they are not "NEEDED" for spark purposes until 19-20 psi (unless you need timing retard because an SAFC is advancing it) I am doing it for the rev limiters and stutter box. To do 15 your main focus here should be fuel. What kind of LSD? Smart man waiting on the head work till later!!!

The SAFC should ONLY be used for fine tuning the fuel. I'm telling you my suggestions are to get AT LEAST 440cc injectors, an SFMU and an AFC and you can tune just fine. I'm also telling ya, you try to push those 310's and BOOM you're going to have a nice oil leak through the valve cover and smoke out the tailpipe. Would I lie to you James? Never my friend, don't push your luck with those 310's. No matter what it's 440cc's and an SFMU!!!

***BTW if you are using the SAFC to lean your injectors out a lot right now, your motor will be going shortly. It advances timing, that's bad! I'd richen it up a WEEEE bit!
