ok heres my situation i bought me a 91 talon fwd auto n/t 2.0 with a broke con rod. block and head in good shape still. well at my local yard there is a 91 laser turbo halfway stripped. well i got the shortblock and tranny and all the rest to make mine a manual. now i am at my latest stopping point what shpuld i do for the motor. the turbo shortblock is gonna need bored and honed the cylinders are rusty but my n/t block is in nice shape.
I was planning on just ballhoning my n/t block and putting the turbo rotating assembly as is old berings and all the are in good shape but used and run this till summer and then do a complete rebuild on it when i can afford it
should i be able to get away with that and still be able to make factory turbo power or would i be better off and buy an engine kit for $309 and build a fresh stock turbo shortblock

can i use a stock turbo head gasket or do i need a special one.

now to my turbo steup the laser parts car has the intercooler ecu and some of the piping left that i am going to get the turbo and manifold are gone i have a freind that has an eclipse gsx 1g that has a exmanifold that is cracked and a turbo he'll sell em both to me for $50 my other options is using a i think it's a garett t4 sumthinlikethat i haven't looked at it for a while but it's off a svo mustang and build a custom manifold and down pipe which would i be better off doing?

the fuel system i will need help with i can gett most of it from the laser i dn't wanna sound like jerk here but i wanna know specifics on what i will have to do not a bunch of b/s

anyway i know some of my methods are prolly a lil shady to someof you but i am a high school student with a 14hr a week job at a body shop that pays $6.50 an hour and my car insuraance is $100 a month so do the math

anyway thanks much for any help and don't post and b/s ansers talking about muffler bearings and nawwwwwws i grew up in an automotive machine shop so i know whats b/s and not so save ursefl the effort and post truthfull responses

trust me the number one thing to do in this situation is to do it right the first time. save up awhile longer and get new bearings if you have to.

the nt block is exactly the same so theoretically you could just get new rod bearings and drop in the rods and pistons from the 1g turbo motor.

stick with the stock 14b for now until you make sure you have all the wiring and shit setup right. the last thing you need is to dump a bunch of money into some sort of custom turbo setup only to find out that it doesn't all work out right.

if you don't want a bunch of bs, read one of the two stickies above you on turboing the 4g63. both have good info that will get it running right.
