i want the evo 8 swap for my 95 gs

im planing of doin the evo 8 swap in my 95 gs and ive heard of people doin it and ive also heard its rather easy, and that theres little to change out, i just dont know were to find a evo 8 motor but im able to get ahold of all the other parts it takes nay advice would be great.

I believe that in modified mag there was a galant that was featured that had an evo8 stroker motor swapped. He used a manual transmission from a 3g eclipse with a 2.4 4g64.

I would deff do it if I have the money. But I'd include the AWD into the swap. That way I'd have an Evo which cost a lot less insurance wise and it would be one bad sleeper.

The evo swap has been done before. I don't remember the link but he completed it and it was only FWD, not AWD. The car was running and didn't have any problems. No telling how much money was spent on it though, imo, keep the 420a.

So you're telling me that a 300 hp AWD car under 3,000 lbs wouldn't be fast..? I bet a 2G with an EVO swap would be killer at a track. But, my real dream is to get a FD and do a 2JZ-GTE (single turbo) swap... If only...

Never said that? But for the time and money it would cost you to buy the motor, get everything made to fit, you could probably have a built 6 or 7 bolt with a bigger turbo. Just making an observation. Dont try to start flaming people ,cause your dream, HA. Goodluck.

I think the idea of doing this swap is awesome. But what I don't get is are they running an EVO computer or what?.. How do they get those things to run? Is the EVO harness part of the swap as well?...
I read on DSMtalk that a 420a transmission will bolt up, but that really doesn't sound right to me.

, because it would be unique and insurance would be less. I'm just one of those crazy guys who likes to be different, hence why I built the 420A instead of a 4G63... Mike, I'm far from being a teenage ricer, come on now.
