turbo boost....

Ok i have researched everything i can on that worn out search button. I found a forum that is sum what close. there are alot of questions and i am turning to you (Dsm tuners)

Heres my problem. My car will not boost past 7 psi. Now heres the thing. it reachs 5 psi easy and takes a little time to hit 7psi. When hit 7psi it feels like the motor just shut the fuel off and wont go any further. I have a totaly upgraded fmu and welbro fuel pump. I have heard that the 420a engine has a fuel cutt off... this true? Do you think that im hitting that point? I have my mbc set to the fullest. I seen on a video, 3rd gear floored stays at psi. Shouldnt it boost 7psi when i floor it and am at 3500-4500? the car seems pretty quick for 5 but most i want to run is 10-12 daily(on new 330 injectors) and never touch this again cause im sick of all the problems. So im turning to you tuners to try to help me if you can or have an idea on what is going on.

Thank you for any one who puts there 2 cents in.

What type of wastegate you got, kind of injectors you got, how you got the mbc hooked up(may have that wired up wrong)?

answer....

have you checked for boost leak? do you have a FCD? 96-99 eclipse will need some sort of FCD to prevent fuel cut.

ok the other day i found my hose clamps not tight so i tightend all of them.. Nothing came loose. heres my engine pic its kinda big but maybe you can see what the problem is from here. (fustrated) I have been trying to make more boost sence 1 pm today. I took the atmosphereic pressure off and made 7 psi.only thing stock on this car is cams and springs and currently injectors but there are on the way here fed ex and should be getting them this week. here are three pics.

Photobucket

Photobucket

remember the thing between the wastegate and the mbc is off (little blue connection) atmospheric pressure.

Resize the pics they are to big...

You get the mbc off ebay it looks like one they are junk. Put it in the trash that is where they belong.
You have stock injectors, you are gonna hit fuel cut... dont your car into boost till you get this fixed and tuned, unless you enjoy picking your motor parts off the side of the road.

What kind of wastegate you got, you may have to adjust it. Do a boost leak test, fix the injectors.

Wow you bought a crap kit, you could have built a better one for less that would have been better.

But youll be fine if you watch/check everything over. Looks like everything you got is ebay/china knock off All of it mostly junk. If your bov or wastegate from china fail your motor is toast.

5 psi is nice but you should feel 20-35, makes you evil

haha the 25 psi, Id like too but yeah.... But yeah i reasearched this t04e turbo.. Good turbo, The blow off valve is an actual hks blow off valve. I was verry much suprised when i took it out of the box. When i took it out i right away went to the hks web site and looked up the part number. Heres a list of #@#$ that i had to replace

:ebay:

All the stupid gaskets!!
The oil line had to be replaced and had to get a new oil line with a oil restrictor
New clamps had to be replaced the other ones wouldnt stay tight
The plate that holds the oil line. JUNK!! Cheap metal (only was 30.00 for a good one but 30.00)
"turbo timer" JUNK never put it on. I have to let my car sit for about 3 min sometimes if i drive over 3000 rpms.
soon to be the supposably "boost control now " think looks like crap and cheap anyways.
the rubber fittings did not work. Cheap and ripped easy.
Hopefully nothing else.

but sence i bolted it on and had all this replaced i havnt had a problem except this boost issue.

My fustration for this car is high. ABout 800 bucks. i also took my turbo to a motor guy. He has a turbo blue printer and balance check for turbo's. We checked everything we could with out opening the turbo housing. So that cost a little bit. But yeah 800.00

yeah but the thing is, Theres no one here where i live that knows about turbo's. All are v8 people, or lets slap a turbo on and call it good. Not tune anything there are no eclipses here that i know of or seen here that are actualy tuned or have put alot of money in there cars like me. I wanna beable to beat some of these pos mustang owners arround here cause all they do is talk crap about imports and how we cant drive and how we have lawn mowers for transportation. I have been beat so bad with my stock eclipse, not stock any more and now no one messes with me. If there are any sioux city iowa tuners here message me cause I can not find you anywhere. do you have alot of tunning shops out west?
