Well, everything will start going in tomorrow and should be ready to drive by Friday afternoon (no boost for one week). Check my profile for specs. Here are some pics:

Groovy.

Someday I'll be boosting along too. Every time I have the money, the wife finds something "better" to spend it on. pffft. Someday...

Let us know how it goes.

Woot. /drools over keyword/

I like shiny stuff! :thumb: Plus the fact that everything looks brand new!
WHat kind of exhaust is that?

Let us know if you run into trouble. I'm sure we'll be able to help out. Also, you're going to love boost. :rocks:

looks nice I love how shiny the wastegate is. I remember being so excited when I got mine because it was so much prettier than the deltagate I had, LOL

I have it listed on my profile. It's an Apexi N1 GS-T cat-back and downpipe. I can't wait till I get out of here (i'm at work).

Its easy to tell its an N1 by the 45 degree muffler placement.

you got a gs-t apexi downpipe too? why?

I was just going to ask him the same question too. I guess he's going to do the fab work from that which might be a PITA. Get ready to order that T3/T4 flange buddy.

The Apexi (GS-T) downpipe doesn't connect to the turbo. It's was suppossed to be part of a 2 part downpipe. However, I did forget that it wouldn't clear the cross-member :sosad: . I just need to finish my oil lines and downpipe, but I got to go back to work. My front bumper looks like ass. I forgot that you can clock the cold side of the turbo. So I got it on however I could before remembering I could clock the cold side of the turbo. Sorry, but i'm pretty much a turbo/boost virgin :shhh: . I'll post pics when I get back from work, remember it's an ugly view. I'll clean it up in about 2 weeks (2Gb bumper and new IC piping).

Sorry I havn't kept you guys updated. The install was done a few days ago. I didn't feel like waiting for a week before boosting... So, I drove to St Louis and back. About 300 mile without boost. ...And I am happy to say... I am no longer a virgin to boost... My fmic dropped my boost to right under 5psi. That sounds right since my wastegate is set at 5.8psi. I didn't use the Apexi downpipe, because it didn't clear the crossmember and i'd figured it would be cheaper to sell it and just make one. Right off the turbo it starts off with 2.5" and right after the bend around the oil pan goes to 3". I'll take pics tomorrow and post. Yeah... finally turbo'd...

Congrats man, glad to see you got it going. Let us know how that turbo holds up as I'm sure a lot of people are wondering.

Yeah, I don't really trust this ebay turbo, so I got the money on the side for the turbonetics one. But I plan on running the ebay turbo until it goes bad just to see how durable they really are. I'm still at work so I can take pics yet. Come back around 9 pm for pics...

Has anyone else had trouble getting the bolt for the manifold in under the flange for the turbo?

I cannot get a bolt in there to bolt it to the block. All of the rest of them are in though. Just curious? I have a treadstone manifold.

Everyone has trouble with that one. Basically if you're using a bolt you're going to be there all day and night. You need a stud in the head for that one, and the manifold needs to be loose enough to pull the bottom out a bit which will allow clearance for the nut to thread on.

^What he says, because I told him that :p haha.

I also had trouble for the one to the left of that one. I had to use 2 studs into the head and then back the manifold out far enough to fit a nut on the tip of the stud and then start threading it on. Once they are threaded on, you can push the manifold on and put bolts in all the other ones. The 2nd time I had to do it (on my talon) it went smoother than I thought it would since I had so much trouble the first time around.

Heres the pics I promised. I know, i'm late but work has been killer... And no, a bolt will not fit in under the turbo flange.

I know, my radiator is leaking, but I got a new in the garage, I just havn't time to swap them. Also, the welding on the wastegate looks bad too. Underneath there is a 3" cat ($86) from autozone. Just tell them to look up a chevy truck. I forgot what model. More to come in the summer...

It all looks pretty good... The only things I would suggest are:

Clock the turbo downward, there's no need to add such harsh bends if you don't have to. You sent me a PM about that, which I just found - sorry for not getting back to you. You should just be able to unbolt the compressor housing and rotate it. The pipes will need a little work to accommodate the new orientation, but it shouldn't take long.

Also, the bend in the downpipe doesn't look too hot. In fact, it kind of looks like my downpipe. I think the bend is too sharp, but it'll do. That is probably a non-issue until you start grasping for more ponies.

Finally, what's going on with that feed line? Did you construct a 4-AN line yourself? I would just spring for a standard pre-constructed 4-AN line with a single 90* aluminum fitting. It won't cost much. Maybe $30 at the most.

Lol... I cut up my oil line and hooked it up to a 1/4" elbow/fittings, because no one in Mid-Mo has any -4 AN fittings. I had to order them and didn't feel like waiting another couple of days. My feed line doesn't leak though, at least not yet... and it seems to be just fine. I will see about ordering a -4 AN line with an elbow in it. The project has only just begone. Wednesday, I should get my MBC and i'm turning it up to 6 psi.

TotalEclipse: I got a bolt in the one to the left, I just had to start with it first. I will have to go and get a stud. I didn't even think about that. I tried a shorter bolt.

I am just getting my car back together from a complete rebuild. I will have to get some pictures up of it. Maybe later tonight.....

Thanks for the advice!
