Need some advice with purchasing my new manifold and a new down pipe that would connect to my t3/t4 turbo set up with an external wasteguage. Just trying to see whats the best set up for my ride. I've been looking around but just not convinced in what the best selection.... thanxs

Autosquare (good, although I wouldn't trust it), Treadstone (better, I plan on buying one of these soon), Star (best, overpriced).

I don't know about the downpipe... most of use fabricate them from scratch since the position varies based on turbo and manifold.

Should I bother with a OBX turbo manifold? I want something flashy and high performance if you know what I mean. Check these out and tell me what you think! Worth buying or what?

Just from eyeing that out it looks like a PITA to fit. Honestly, I don't see how you could fit that without a super slim radiator.

Also, it's very hard to find flashy and perfmormance in one package. Especially from the Ebay merchants. That company producing the above manifold has, well, not the best reputation when it comes to parts. I'd seriously opt for another.

Yeah figured that..... damn! Or one more thing about down pipes? I'm having a hard time looking a for one that comes with everything to connects the turbo directly? Any thoughts on that...

Unless you have the correct manifold and turbo provided in a kit, along with the downpipe, I doubt there will be a direct fitment. Let me tell you, I paid $150 for a custom made downpipe with flex section. Once I bolted up the turbo and manifold, my downpipe wouldn't fit by 1/2". I had to get the car towed up to a custom speed shop and paid an extra $350 for a custom made one to flow with my turbo.manifold location.

If it's not a kit, you're basically HOPING to find a downpipe that will fit AHEAD of time. But once you actualy install the turbo on the car, it's like walking blind. You just never know.

I know, it sucks.

This is what you do.....buy a log style manifold, jet coat it....and for the wastegate just go open dump.

I would probably go to an exhaust shop and see how much one would cost to fab one up for ya using mild steel and the flange off your other downpipe.

I'd say have the guy who built one for me build you one...but its probably going to be more than you want to pay...at least for 3" Stainless Steel.

You will also like it better if an exhaust shop does it that way you can have some extra o2 bungs put in at the same time for possible dyno tuning or a wideband tune for later.

One last thing, Im trying to order this custom t3/t4 downpipe that should fit on my new t3/t4 set up that I have for this car. Now my wastegate is external right, do I have to connect my downpipe to the wastegate thats connected to the manifold? Like the original downpipe that came with the car when I first purchased it, theres like a small pipe just welded on to the downpipe connecting to my wastegate. Would my car run fine its just connnect to my turbo and not my waste guage? Im prbly making no sense but hopefully someone understood what the hell I just said. Thanxs

If your asking if you have to tie in a pipe from the wastegate to the dp, then the answer is no. You don't have to, but I would if it's in a good position to do so.

I see, so would I leave it open or just screw in the cover? Just asking ### in some pics I swear they left them open..... thanxs

No, leave the cover off. The exhaust gas has to get out of it, whether it's going into the air or back into your exhaust.

It's good to have a dump tube. It will push the hot gass down towards the ground and away from the engine components.

Some people have dump tubes that go into the exhaust so the heat is contained and forced out the rear of the vehicle.
