Tubular Manifolds Cheap!

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

That looks like the exact same manifold Turbocalculator.com sells for the 420A.

They've been around for a while, but XS Power has earned a poor reputation for lower quality parts.

I heard rumor from a local shop that OBX is subcontracted by SS autochrome and this company to make these manifolds.

After doing some research regarding tubular manifolds, i am told by some reputable people that 304 stainless is really not hard enough and 341 needs to be used. Now 341 is about 2 times the cost of 304 and the flanges must be cut from very large stock making the flange itself over 100.00. The shortcut is Many fabricators use a 304 flange with 341 tubing. Materials are still around 500.00.

There was amember on the Daytona forums a couple years back that made an equal length manifold. Cant remeber what stainless he used but he said he would make another because the materials were 750.00. Thats nuts!

If anyone wants to take the chance, i would like to see how this performs longer term (6 months or greater.)

Agreed. Great idea. :thumb: Most people lean torwards the Log style manifold because it's cheaper and easier to find/obtain. I rarely see the tubular manifold on 420a's these days so it would be nice to see a breakthrough of use on these items. The performance, reliability, and price may be worth it. This offers better performance for all of us boosting our 420a's in this comunity. May be 1 more HP over our log style manifolds, getting us closer and closer to higher numbers...

I might get one of those manifolds... just cause everything else I have is shinny... why not ;)

Need to get the car running again first though...LOL

I am using the manifold for my turbo project. I am going to test its fitment, reliability, etc, etc ... Looks very very clean and nice.

I am thinking about trying this manifold out, maybe, but the picture of it is not a 420a flange, nor is it on a 420a?

Thats exactly what I was thinking... I would be a little cautious buying this but thats just me.

Okay I know this is old, but that is what happens when you use the search button.

Has anyone tried using one of these manifolds, or does anyone with a turbo'd 420a have a tubular manifold? If so how much?

I'd be will pay around 600 bones for a manifold made for our car, with an external wastegate flange, and one that is supported.

I knew a member on 2GNT with a custom tubular manifold. He gave me the information of the place that made it for him: I think they were in the northwest, by you Rand. I'll try to dig up the information for you.

I called them, and I believe they quoted me about $700. The only problem was that there was no room for radiator fans - not even Slimlines.

I was thinking you could go with a pusher slimline fan on the front of the radiator, but I dont' know if that will cool as effeciantly as its supposed too.

Yeah I've gotta a couple of well known exhaust shops around my area, I just wanted to know if there was anyone making them specifically for our cars yet?

You can run a 10" fan in front of the driver side and an 8" fan in front of the passenger if you keep the A/C condensor. If you remove the A/C condensor you can run 2 12" fans.
