I am looking at doing a number of things to my car with in the next 2 years. The first thing that I want to do is get a stage II kit from Hahn with the side mount ic and all extras that are needed. I just wanted to ask if these prices sound about right to you or are they a little high...

Stage II kit from Hahn with SMIC-2599.99

EGT, Boost, Fuel Pressure, and instrument cluster gauge pod- 400

Eliminator Jr. down pipe and clamps etc. - 350

S-AFC II- 269
(May get the AFC tonight or asap if you all think it is worth getting right now. Should I wait?)
Does that sound right for just parts. Please let me know. Thanks

well, hahn's pricing is defintatly right, they charge you up the ass for that kit, but sometimes its worth it to some people.

as for the gauge stuff, check out cardomain's store, they usually have cheaper stuff, along with ebay. But make sure you get what you want ie (electricla or mechanical), because that will definately afffect the price of what you are buying.

The SAFC2 I'm assuming you are getting brand new, because you can usually find a used one for about 2 bills (ie $200).

Good luck

Yeah I was looking at getting a new S-AFC II because just incase anything happens with it I want to have the warrenty still on it. Thank you very much though. Do you think that I should get it now or should I get something else now and get the AFC later?

Honestly, get your kit up and running first, then worry about the SAFC install. I'd like to say do it all at once, but thats about $300 you are going to drop, which could be used for misscellanious things.

Also you might end up coming into more money a little later in the future, and want to tune with something a lot better than the SAFC, like hahn's 8injector setup, emnage, megasqurit. There's nothign wrong with the SAFC but its the basic tool, and I'd like to see your car running, and before you dive in to tuning.

I'm just speaking from experience, I went out and got my star stage 2 kit, with the SAFC2, and had it all in, I was tuned for a little while, but then I ran into some other issues, In the same summer I now have a built motor, and I"m running emnage, which makes my sAFC2 obsolete (except for the pretty bezel in the vent I made), but It could have saved me $300 for other shit I needed.

IMO: go without the SAFC2 for now.

oh and thats $300 towards a new clutch if your interseted in more holding power.

So would you say instead of getting an AFC right now, if even at all, that I should get a clutch or something like that. The main thing that I am wanting to do is to go ahead and start getting some of the minor things that add up done so when I get the turbo all I have to do is install it. As far as a clutch I get paid about 300 every two weeks and I put half of that back for something like a turbo so funds are kinda limited right now. So I just want to get the stuff that I need right now like gauges, new hg, etc.

I think you should save that money right now, and either put it towards your turbo, or save it for things like oil/fuel filter/92+ ocatane your about to be running. I would even spend some of the money on a highflow cat or testpipe (depending on your emissions or how legal you would like your car to remain). Just based on looking at your mod list, you've got everything else you will need, so just the high flow cat, otherwise save your money for the turbo kit and little things you will need when you put it on.

P.S. If you plan on getting your kit really soon, I'd start running 92+ and go through one tank full before the install. It just makes it simpler so when you are diagosing a problem, that won't be one thing you are worried about.

unless you are planning on going with a megasquirt or 8 injector setup i would say most people would also suggest gettting an sfmu (not to mention if your looking at hahn most would agree the cartech is a piece of crap) you can also probably get a stage II used for under $2000 if your looking to save some money there and use the extra cash for the sfmu and a walbro intank pump

As an idea of cost for a used kit i've got a stage I with greddy tt and 1g smic and bov and gsx pump....i chucked the pump and fmu that came with it got an sfmu, walbro pump, egt, a/f, mechanical fp gauge, 2 gauge pod, and put together some piping for the intercooler all for under $2000 the only issue i've had so far is the wastegate is leaking so i may need a new one

i'd listen to the above to and don't worry about the AFC for now because there is much more you can be getting

I have actually been searching the classifieds for a used kit but I just can not find one. If anybody knows where I can find a good used kit please let me know.

there's almost always one in the for sale section on 2gnt.com i know that's where i grabbed mine, much more 4g63 stuff on this site 2gnt is 420a specific
