Appx $1500
Plus another $500 set aside for Other / Extra parts as needed.
Now, a few questions.
1: Should I go ahead and get a turbo exhaust manifold, and block off the turbo port, or stick with a stock manifold until I am ready to go with Turbo?
2: .20 / .30 / . 40 over... The rebuild kit above from SlowBoy has options for oversized rod bearings, bore (Pistons) and main bearings... Is there an advantage to this, or is stock ok? If going over is prefered, I guess I'd need to take the block to a machine shop to get the cylinders bored out to the over size? Which way to go?
3: Anything else? I am not looking to bolt a turbo up to this any time soon (most likely within the next 6 - 8 months) So things like the wiring harness, or any changes to it, I think , can be safely ignored at this point.
I just want to get the car reassembled and running. I think the Stock 1g's run at 10:1 compression.. Will i have any problems running 8.0:1 pistons in an NT Engine until the turbo conversion is completed?
And have I missed anything else?
Many Thanks.
Dave
