im doing the complete conversion to turbo and right now i am rebuilding my engine i was wondering what the general rule for compression ratios was?in other words what amount of boost can certain compression ratios handle?
i read in another post that the lower the compression ratio the higher boost it can handle.
so can we get like a little list of a few different compresion ratios and what there handling thanks guys. :dsm: :thumb:

Compression ratios are a big issue, but fuel is what ultimatly determains how much boost you can run.

If your building a street car(7-10psi) you can stick with stock internals, as long as they are in good shape. Replacing your pistons and rods would be a great idea, but I have seen people running stock internals reliably.

Our stock compression ration on the 420a is 9.6:1. Dropping under 9:1 is a good idea when turboing. I went with 8.6:1 JE Pistons on mine. Just make sure you have enough fuel going into your combustion chamber, otherwise your going to be blowing stuff up.
