ok, my question is about what I should do, I am going to be getting a good amount of money soon but I was wondering about how hard it would be to buy a non-Turbo car and put a turbo on it. Because if it could work out easy enough I would just buy a non-turbo car and put the stock tubo system off my buddies 90 Talon TSi that he is parting out. If I were to do this what would be some things that I would need to do? any suggestions? what things should I catious of?
thanks for your help

hey don't buy a n/a and try to turbo it its a waste of time and money if you don't belive me go read the write up on it on vfaq.com its under turbo i think in there it describes the hell that your going to have to go through my $.02 is that you just buy a turbo motor and drop it in if thats what you up too

Ya I'm agreeing with him on this one. It would be a hell of alot easier to buy a turbo motor and drop it in but if you want to do the n/a thing, it's not hard at all. There are a bunch of posts on here and other posts on vfaq about what is needed.

The NA 4g63 cant run the boost as the turbo one can cause of the pistons and such. I dunno i dont think it would be that tough to do the NA to turbo swap stuff on the 1st gen alough getting the entire turbo 4g63 would be alot better.

1g 6bolts you need pistons, cams, knock sensor, and ecu + all the turbo stuff off the other motor like oil pan..blah blah

i dont think you "need" pistons or cams, you might not even 100% need knock sensor or ecu but i wouldnt exactly say thats the best route.....cant you just modify the oil pan already on the car?

but why when you can have one already made for it for like 30 bux somwhere....

LOL, i think all that would be abit more then a 30 dollar investment.

edit, o you mean the oil pan, yeah i would just buy one for 30 bucks if i could find it easy.

go for it it's not hard at all.

you'll need the ecu, mas, knock sensor, fpr, injectors, injector resistors, intercooler, piping, turbo, ex manifold.

look on vfaq.com there is a write up on how to do it it is realtivly easy can be done in 2 nights of pissing around.

don't worry about the cams or pistons, they don't know what there talking about. they are different but not needed, untill you want to start going real fast.
