What will happen if i put a hahn turbo in my car and i want to get a new exghust or what not. When i buy it will i have to get the exghust that says turbo in the discription or the or the one that says non-turbo. because i was thinking of getting and exghust before th got the turbo should i just forget about that whole idea. I dont want to have to change up the exghust or what not when i put my turbo in it.

first of all.. its exhaust.. not exghust.

second... you can get an exhaust for a non turbo.. however, don't buy a header because it will be usless with the turbo kit. a new manifold will come with the turbo kit. you should just wait to do your exhaust until after you have the turbo kit.

Why would it matter what order u doing it in? if someone gets a cat-back and then gets a turbo..wont it be the samething if he did it in the opp. order....out of curiosity

The difference between NA cars and Turbo is backpressure..For turbo cars you want as little as possible..For NA cars you want some (I'm not sure what is and I don't care cause NA Eclipses are slow)...

Buy a GST exhaust that is at least 2.5"

if you go turbo with an na turbo engine, lower ur compression, dbl up on the head gasket... if the dbl up head gasket is too low of a compression, shave the head untill u got it the way u want

It all depends on how far you want to go. I have a 3" downpipe, to a 3" exhaust, no car, no res, to a 3" inlet muffler. for just a stage 2 turbo kit, not going 8lbs of boost. there isn't much point in changing the exhaust. im sure it would help, but not that much. if he wants the best exhaust, then just run straight 3" like i did.

megan racing makes excellent 3" inlet mufflers.

u always gota remember, a car without a cat is loud. if u gota shitty police record for something else (alcohol speeding trespassing etc) u will be hunted down by cops as soon as they hear ur car. A buddy of mine with a civic has gotten lots of shit from cops becasue of his catless exhaust.

its also smarter to put in ur high flow exhaust first becasue when u get ur turbo on u will be all set on the exhaust part, if u put the turbo in first, ....turbos dont like restricted exhaust ...ie optimum back pressure/stock muffler etc.

Megan Racing?!?! LOL!!!! They make the shittiest stuff. I had their headers. They worked awesome for the first year. I sold them cause of my turbo. The welding on them is terrible. It was mig welded with a flux core welder for cryin out loud! Oh yeah, the header leaked too. I bet the welds would only have lasted for another year or two.

He's right. If your turboing soon, wait to get your exhaust. When you turbo, less is better with exhaust.

ok it depends where you put your hahn turbo. if you put your hahn turbo in your cockpit of your car you'll add about 20 lbs to your car, and you'll add about 2 HP when you add the hahn racecraft sticker to your rear glass. its not going to give you much performance if you put the turbo in your trunk, it may even do damage by rattling around. thats not good. if you put it under the hood you have to spend a lot of money on parts and piping and such. so if you just throw it in there, its liable to drop thru the bottom. if it doesn't drop through the bottom it could cause a LOT of damage in the engine compartment rattling around and such, so that idea is just as bad as the trunk. your best bet is to add the turbo to your cockpit and put the sticker on your rearview mirror  matter of fact, don't get full exaust, get axle back. it gives the most sound. actually screw axle back, just get a fart can! it'll make you sound like you added 10 HP!!! w0wzers :shhh:

heheheh :dsm: :talon: :laser:

  don't forget about the neon lights and those muffler bearings (they add about 50hp) ;)

there isn't much to a muffler these days. This megan muffler that i bought is actually very nice and sounds better than it looks.

but my point is, how are the welds. There was flux all over the runners of my header. Nobody in their right mind would flux weld anything on a car. Espesially if they own a damn company! I mean it only costs $75 for a gas conversion for a small flux welder. Then you got a weld that will penetrate better and last longer.

maybe you should buy a few turbos and put them in your cockpit.. then you could have twin or even triple turbo setup...which means 2 or even 3 TIMES the stickers and hence, 2 to 3 times the horsepower gains.

who were you talkin to bluebotch? anyways i'm going to try to hijack this thread, or else just run it into the ground. so i think i'll go to sleep now. anybody ever have problems trying to poop and talk on the phone at the same time?

T minus 10 seconds till this thread is closed.......Oh and on the exhaust, most states your car wont pass inspection without a Cat and if you have crappy cops you might as well put a resonator on the car anyway. Plus who likes a loud exhaust other than honda owners ;)
