i have a leak in my manifold gasket so i called hahn and am having a new thicker one being sent.

i was thinking, do i need any other gaskets like from the turbo to the downpipe
or can i use high temp RTV silicon to make one when i put everything back together

you could get a new gasket from the manifold to the turbo and another from the turbo to the downpipe.

while you have the exhaust manifold off. take it to a machine shop and have them check it for straightness. the hrc manifolds are known to warp and cause leaks. about one a month you should check the tightness of your exhaust manifold bolts.

mental note.. you can't use RTV silicon on anything dealing with your exhaust.

thanks for the reply
taking the manifold to the machine shop sounds expensive but i am posititve it needs to be done
i have read a lot of ideas here on how to paint the manifold i think i will try them while it is off the car
