I am so close to being finished with my non-turbo to turbo swap. All i have left is to get a few misc things like bolts, put the timing belt and cover on, and then put in my fuel pump. I was wondering if there is anything i should look for right off the bat when i first run the car. :thumb: I can't wait till this thing is up and running!

just dont go boosting like crazy when you first get it running, give the motor time to adjust to seeing boost.

watch your egt temps at all times! and watch your oil light or oil pressure gauge if you have one.

if you feel anything is wrong, stop what you are doing and watch your gauges.

What should the EGT read normally? and at what point do you cry because the pistons just melted?

Lol well maybe i should invest in an EGT gauge..... Don't worry im going to watch everything really carefully. Thanks. :thumb: How long should i break it in before i can let it lose. I was thinking that i should run about 500miles and change the oil then run another 500 and change the oil then let it go gradually. Remember i have brand new 2g pistons and rings, brand new clutch, headgasket, and some other small gaskets like valve cover and stuff. If i melt anything im going to cry

Yea thats what i planned on doing. I ordered an EGT gauge so that will be taken care of. Everything is comming together really nice. It should be runnin by tomarrow. How was yours in the tuning process siueclipse?? Was it hard at all......but then again our cars are completly different. Idealy mine will just run like a modified tsi  But i have a feeling im going to have to mess with it for awhile. I do have all the tools necessary so it should come out good. ill let you guys know how it comes out. Thanks for all the help and stuff. :thumb:

Ok heres the update..... It started and ran ok i drove it around the block...had a really bad coolant leak that was stupid  but i fixed that. Heres the thing it is running ok but i cant get on it because i have new pistons and rings and a new clutch, but the car is kind of misfiring. Throughout the RPMs it kind of studders a little bit. Also my BOV is vented and just stays open>> is this normal? I think it is my coil because before i started my car we checked the spark and it was kind of week....kinda purplish. Anyone got any suggestions?

Another update-----
My car is still runnin good. I have a nasty oil leak that i dont know where it is but i have an idea.... Anyway its running SUPER rich. I ordered an Adjustabel FPR hopefully that will help my overrunning problems with the 255 walbro. Anyone have any ideas with the S-AFC to help me not run soo rich. I tried leaning it out but it didnt help much at all. THanks a lot
