Ok, I got a 1992 Eclipse GS a few months ago from parents. I really want a faster(turbo) car but not sure how to go about it. I've heard very mixed reviews about dropping a new engine or adding a turbo. I am not very car-knowlegable, so there in lies a problem with trying to drop in turbo or swap. I have also been told to just sell my car and buy a turbo, but nobody wants to buy a 92 n/t dsm. I need some feedback on how to sell car or what to do. thanks.

im in the same boat, im in the process of selling mine to purchase a turbo awd, you could do a turbo swap, or just bolt the stock turbo parts to your engine, the swap is propably not easy and would take somebody with some knowledge of dsm's, a few people have bolted up stock turbo parts to the 4g63 engine and boosted safely at 6-10psi, but you cant boost to high because the stock non turbo pistons are weak and you would ruin your engine. Its all up to you, you could drop a turbo engine in your car and pay non turbo insurance. :thumb:

well, first of all do you have a 1.8 or a 2.0. that is huge. if you have the 2.0 then i would say drop a turbo into it. but if you have a 1.8, do an engine swap or sell it

read the forum "n/t turbo conversion" It has lots of good answers and questions probably what you are looking for.

My advice would be to either put a turbo kit on it or get a cold air intake, pacesetter headers, and a obx/megan racing cat back if they are available for you r car.

Come to think of it if you are a 1g n/t Megan racing is looking for a car to build that cat back for (you may be lucky). check it out at meganracing.com

gsx's are hard as hell to find down here. gst's are not as hard but its still freakin hard. if i were u, i wouldnt go for the turbo swap especially since u say ur not car literate. plus, the turbo bolt on is not just about puttin a few bolts and thats it. its a long process, ur going to go through a lot of headache's and u'll probably blow ur engine if u have a 1.8, i'd go for other upgrades, turbo is not the only option.

i would do a swap if i were u cause ur cars so clean..u prolly put allota work into it..so keep the body and do a heart transplant..

what do u guys think about this:http://www.prostreetonline.com/sku/TSI_Extreme_Turbo_Kits_ME25B1X.html

yeah i know, will it fit the eurospec? i dunno..my nt looks exactley like ur nt..it made 155bhp ..only thing is,the MAS and Airbox look different...and it has headers(stock) instead of the iron manifold..do u guys think its worth a try?or would it be cheaper to get stock 1g/2g turbo parts?

If you have the 4g63 engine then it should fit because its the same as the 1st gen non turbo 4g63, i would call them up and ask them to see if it would really work, but i dont know why it wouldnt, worth a shot. tschuess :thumb:

The kits should work with the ecu since their made specifically for the 4g63, i believe the non turbo 4g63 MAS has 6 wires, and the turbo cars have 7,(correct me if im wrong)

i think one of the kits comes with bigger injectors and fuel pump, but not sure, i would check up on it, if they dont then i would look into investing in a walbro FP and some good injectors. And i would get a S-AFC to help control the fuel curve. Goodluck! :thumb:

i don't kn ow about that i think 94 they switched from 1g to 2g so theres 94 1 and 2gs out there butif it looks liek a 1g its most liley got the 1g engine in it

i believe 95 was when the 2G started out.....mine is still the 1G 4G63
