Anybody know a place or someone who chips the 420a 2g's? I see all the chips that plug into wires like your maf or someplace. Just say hey cold air your let's dump fuel. But im looking for a legit chip.

Nope... there's no one (or company) that can "chip" the 420A PCM. Also, these cars don't have MAF sensors, just MAP sensors.

N/T's use a Chrysler ECU not a Mitsu. So that is not possible.

There is nothing like that for the 420A unfortunatley. Maybe look around and see if you can pick up a used AFX ecu, that may help you out a little bit. Other than that you only option would to go magasquirt.

Supposed to be the best "bolt on" for a N/A 420A.
Not exactly a chip, but I think this is what you are looking for.
They used to only make them for like 2 model years, but now they have almost every combo and year.
Cheaper than I've ever seen too.:hmm:
I've been spending too much time on my 4g63 lately, but I still want one of these ECU's for my 2G.

Do a little search on "AFX ECU" and you will find more information.:thumb:

I will keep this in mind for sure! Thanks bro. Some good info I read from our guys here. But its a little pricey. But oh well. What my question is that someone had on their. What if you wanted to run megasquirt along with that ECU?
But this is something I'm going to have to save up for after I throw some 272 cams in it.

Then it would be pointless to buy the AFX ecu, and might I ask where you are going to be buying these 272 cams for your non turbo eclipse?

I think OP has an identity crisis; wanting to use 4G63T parts on his 420A. LOL

Just kidding... But really OP, I think you need to read a bit more of this:

420A DSM Tech - DSM Forums

and

Tech Guide: 2G 420A Power Upgrades - DSMtuners

Rather than whats to be found on the 4G63T forums/threads.

And I don't know if they make 272 duration cams for the 420A engines but I doubt it... And I think you'd benefit much more from a full exhaust system etc. than higher duration cams.

Yes they make 272 cams for 420A

I think they have bigger cams as well but i do not remember the site i seen them on.

If i ever decide to install this turbo i have then i may upgrade the cams.

Well you taught me something, I as well didn't know they made 272 cams for the 420a, BUT these cams appear to be regrinds, not that there is anything wrong with them but Crane cams offer 100% billet ground cams vs regrinds, just something to think about. Another HUGE factor is that I don't see any kind of specs for these cams other than, "his is a GREAT power adder for the 420a" and "and the power increase is very noticeable. Also has that cool bumpy idle that sounds very racy!" First and foremost, if you are on the stock ecu, you will probably only notice a small increase in power, maybe even a loss(depending on what else you have done). Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these are a gimmick or saying its a bad product, I would just like to see some type of spec card on them. DSM Graveyard is a reputable company so I'm sure its great.

Yeah, they ask for a core or core charge... so they're re-grinds.

If you asking whether or not you can have megasquirt run just a few things like fuel map and spark timming then the answer is yes. If you are asking if you can maintain the stock ecu's fuel control untill you hit a specific rpm then no. Megasquirt and portfueler are two seperate methods of increasing fuel.

Actually you can maintain the stock ecu fuel control and run the MS EXACTLY like you can portfueler, you just have to set it up the same way as you would an extra injector controller, which mean you would have to have more injectors via some TB injectors(seen in done on a 420a but don't recommend it) or another set via an extra rail and holes drilled on the intake. But I don't think thats what he/she was talking about...:thumb:

Touche' my friend. I guess MS could also run your portfueler flange and injectors for those people with more money than common sense.

Pricey? You must be kidding. They have dynoed 10whp in a stock car over stock ecu, 10whp for 350-450 is amazingly cheap for NA aplication. Not to mention first time tune on a new car/set-up is around $500 here, the AFX ECU will be about dead on. I have the dyno to prove this. Was at 144whp, after SAFC (you can combo afx ecu with a safc) netted me only 2whp, then another 2 whp with cam gears tuned in. ( I believe MB also so only a 2whp gain with comboing a SAFC to his AFX)
Also there is no need to combo an AFX with Megasquirt. AFX is a self tuning ECU, Megasquirt is a standalone(well basically).

As for cams, most people prefer the Crower 2's NA grind for NA or boost applications, although I can not remember the numbers on those off hand. If you are interested in Cams I suggest you read this.
