As some of you know i had problems with my safc. (uninstalled and not putting it back on) I'm having issues with fuel. When i decelerate or full floor the car after it his certain point of boost (8psi) it floods my motor with fuel. My a/f gauge shows it as running very rich. but funny thing here... When i floor it then back out like just a little bit it hauls butt. I'm purchasing a fcd from Paul this week. He said it maybe other issues. Do you have any idea's what it could be. I think i might know but I'm not sure here is my theory. I hate obx stuff. When i payed a friend to order me a fmu he bought a obx fmu. I wanted the 12:1 cause "randy" from here said that would be best. Ether its a pos fmu or fuel cut out is effecting my car at 8 psi. I'm thinking about ditching the fmu and getting a sfmu. But for now I'm stuck with the obx. Does any one have any idea's?
Symptoms again:
Floor the car, when hits a certain point where making lots of boost the lc-1 wide-band reads 18 max fuel. when i let off the gas a little reads about 16 and car flay's making like 3 psi.
when decelerating car runs rich as hell.
If you have any idea's please let me know.
Lance
New dsm tuners
oh yeah sorry to prove i did research this heres some links i found
One was kinda close.
Fuel pressure questions
running rich at idle
Map sensor question
Super Lean, I need advice
98 talon running rich close but no dice.
oh yeah set up is 12:1 fmu stock injectors and a t40e turbo.

I hate you.
No I'm just kidding, but this is very interesting to me. I assume you meant you have a T04e turbo? What size? We have a similar turbo, if not the same one, and the same fuel setup. It is interesting how you are super rich and I am super lean... (I'm trying to afford an SFMU as well now)

um heres a pic of the turbo. I got it Thur ebay. Funny cause turbo has had no problems yet.
Super lean hu? wow cause I'm like over the top rich. I've also read about other tuners running 12-15 psi with just new injectors and a sfmu. I'm thinking about doing that instead and making sure its not obx.
any one know if this is correct?

I completely missed that when I first read the thread. Yeah if the wideband hit 16:1 or 18:1 while in boost, that's not good, especially at WOT. If that's correct, then you sound like you're in my boat, except I'm not even that lean.

If the wideband hit 18 that isn't max fuel, that's more like max lean, no where near enough fuel.
You're contradicting yourself. Is it running rich or lean? If your wideband is showing above 12.5:1 or 13:1 while you're on the gas boosting, that is lean.

Yea thats really bad, That means your SUPER lean. Like melting pistons lean. Basically like chris712vt You want to see about 12 under boost, And about 14.5 at idle. But definitely don't boost it until you figure this out! How do you have your FMU hooked up?

Yeah a FMU is really only good til about 6-7psi on average some can push it higher some can get that so just watch your wideban and keep it under 12 when your under boost. Also what your seeing when you let off the gas and it jumps to 16 is normal, Because the ECU cuts fuel, Which is once again perfectly normal. Really the only time you gotta watch your wideban is under boost.

I'm right here with you man. My AFR only climbed to 15:1 range at it's leanest point, but that's still very bad. I have since tried to just stay out of boost completely whenever I have to drive. I guess if you have a small little turbo, a 12:1 FMU and stock injectors can handle 7-8psi, but there just seems to be no chance with a larger one like we're running.
I've got an SFMU and 315cc injectors on the way right now. So I should be able to run my 8psi again soon. Perhaps even a little more now, but I'll keep it at 8 until I know I'm safe for sure.

Ok mister 420a expert, What do you recommend? Unlike the 4g63 we dont have many choices, FMU being the most common. Now i agree FMU's aren't that great but it is what we have to work with.

Like i said "stating the obvious". What kind of injectors you got on that thing and when you are wot what does your A/F sit at?

WOT At 6psi 11.9:1 A/f ratio with stock 220's, So you keep on "stating the obvious"

Do you have a wide band o2? A couple of 18 or maxing the a/f gauge lean will definitely do some E/D.
