Rats, I knew that. Doug pointed that out some time ago. My mistake.dr1665 said:And again:
YOU DO NOT USE SYNCHROSHIFT IN YOUR NEW VENTURE T350 MANUAL TRANSMISSION. USE ONLY OEM FLUID.
(Sorry, sir, but this is the way it is. We don't use that stuff in our transmissions.)

You can't use the SRT4 tranny. Period.napkinthief said:would an srt4 tranny bolt onto a 420a, since the engine from the neon is the same as the one off my nt
Use the neon 3.55. I'm running it right now and I'm 2350 @ 70. But I'm not so sure that you will save gas (unless you drive like an old lady). I tend to find myself sitting in fourth too often. That is with 10.5 comp but stock TB and stock cams running on the stock ECU. My car is slow right now,Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but well I figured I do something crazy, and search first haha!
Well I know the SRT4 trans wont bolt-up (my original question), but I wonder if the gears would work in the 420A trans? I like my 99 RS as a DD, but I hate the gearing of it cause going 75mph on the highway Im at 3500rpm, and I'd like to have that under 3k to save gas due to driving around 50-100 miles a day.
Thanks for any help guys.

OH snap Bullett's here.
Just in case you do make the switch, here's a really good write up;
Chrysler builds the worst transmissions of the Big 3 American Manufactures. Its a well documented fact, after the Torque Glide 400 went away in the 70's they started building crap. But to answer your question no it would not work, diffrent bolt pattern, diffrent starter placement, diffrent just about everything else.
