im having a problem with my engine idleing. I dont know what is wrong, i drove it all day yesterday and i installed a tach in it today, i just thought i may not have pushed the gauges all the way back into the 3 clips behind the instrument cluster. does anyone have any ideas? also, my shift light doesnt come on after i programmed it, any ideas on that?

So the the new tach isn't reading your rpm's? Or your engine actually isn't able to idle? A little confused about your question...

ok I imagine you installed the adapter to be able to connect a direct coil unit to a tach. some come with it some don't.doublecheck the connector on the coil and the wires for current.also is your check engine on?if so you might have a problem with a sensor like the iac,or the tps.I am not a mechanic but I am an assistant mechanich and do know something about cars, been aoruond car shops all my life and been working in shops for bou 3 years now.anyways any other q's you might have, holler back
