Much better
I have a HP Header 4-1 style and i'm very happy with it. A header for our 420A motor doesn't really serve that much of a purpose, so there's really no need to spend a shitload of money on an expensive one like Greddy. Plus the chrome look headers look like shit after a few days, they go from a shiny chrome to a chamaleon look.
So basically people say:
4-2-1 good low end power, but no top end
4-1 No low end power, but great top end
I personally didn't notice any loss with low end power when I installed my 4-1, but you do feel more power when cruising on the highway, not alot, but some.
Pacesetter is known for not fitting very great, plus they have a shitty finish on them, but you get what you pay for with them. They still work like every other header once fitted correctly.
I never heard of ssautochrome.
Good luck with your findings

http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/default.php?cPath=86_95

I have the ssautochrome headers and they work pretty good. they did loose their color but the performance gain was noticable. I lost a little low end but the rpms shoot up after 4000. i've had the for about a year and i had no problems with it.oh and they also came with the downpipe.

I have a used set of the Pacesetter 4-2-1s. They fit just fine for me. The finish is a bit less than fabulous, but I think if you saved money by buying a Pacesetter, then you could pop a couple bucks for ceramic coating. Then the header will perform better.

hey man, i got the ones from ssautochrome. They are really nice, they change color, but they turn gold, lol, i think its look fricken sweet. Anyways i say go for them, it comes with a downpipe and the header for about 120 shipped. Cant get any better then that and they gave me a lil top end. I say go for, they look nice and are very inexpensive, and a good mod.

I have the greddy 4-2-1. i noticed a big gain, but i also have a high flow cat(test pipe). my header is nice in the picture, but now it is purple, blue, silver, gold. it did not turn black or crust up like some ive seen. greddy header comes with a down pipe, all you need is a gasket. i polish mine once a month so it looks fine.
>>Chop down that pic to post it, thanks.<<

personally i like greddy products. altough ive never had them on my car. ive only heard good things. does hks make headers?
everyone who gets headers on the wrx regrets it cause of the small power gain and u lose the "boxer rumble" becomes more like the "honda whine"

I mean cam gears are only useful if you have aftermarket cams.

The saying you get what you pay for is true to an extent. Look for a header with a thick flange and ceramic coat or armour coat. also I prefer studs in comparison to bolts, I haven't had any leak problems on any of the headers I have installed on my cars. A nice gasket goes a long way as well. But remember a nice set of headers for a v-8 cost 600-900 dollars, you have half of that so expect to pay half, anymore your buying a name.
