over this last weekend i read in a magazine (can't remember which one) that dot4 fluid is considered an upgrade for dot3. is there any truth to this? and if there is, will it work the same way for the clutch fluid as well? it was in an article titled "150 tuner tips" in the latest modified mag i beleive but will have to check on it. thanks...trust

It's a bit more stable, but [harmless] overkill in a clutch system. The first consideration of brake fluid is heat capacity, then water resistance. Neither are so crucial in clutch systems, as you're not using the fluid to press little pucks against glowing-red-hot discs. DOT 3 is plenty for the clutch, but DOT 4 (or, DOT 5 if you want to go to silicone, and used to be rich [until you decided to switch to slicone.]) has only a minor price penalty, and is miscible with 3.

I used 4 when I was going through my clutch adventures earlier this year. It might've been three bucks more.

Make sure you get the stainless line from RRE.

And only read magazines if they have bikini babes inside. The contents of the pages are about as honest as the filling in their tops. And similarly, they were both gotten by buying.:thumb:
