i got a venom 400 module from a friend's mustang 98. the people at venom say it's the same that would work on our NT eclipses.
does any of you have the installation guide? i downloaded a basic one from venom's page but i want something more specific like wire colors, etc. might not be the best mod to get, but i still want to try it and give you guys my own opinion.
everybody seems to hate this module, but probably without any solid reason. 0$ investment might be worth trying, right?

i have one on my car and i like it. threw away my instructions after i installed it but i know that you can call the tech line and they will basically give you everything you need to know. the number should be on the website.

i'll try a couple more times to get this person at venom that knows about the module installation, he's always busy.
so you're telling me you like it, what advance in timing did you get?
i am planning on getting a nitrous system, but if it advances your timing too much, i'll be scared to try. but if it just adds more fuel in the 2000-5000 rpm range , that could be good for a dry system.
any suggestion?
thank you for the reply

i wouldnt use it with nitrous but you can just cut it off when you plan on spraying. i have found that the venom really helps with taking off. i lost a little low end power when i got my exhaust and header and i could feel it but i put my venom 400 on after that and i can tell it helped get some low end power back.

I can give you a solid reason. It is a worthless crap mod. ALL it does is tell your ecu that you are at 25% throttle when you are at 15%. If you are at 50%throttle it will tell the ECU that you are at 75% throttls and so forth. The problem is that once you are at 100% throttle that's it, nothing more nothing less. It can't make the ecu think it's at 125% throttle. It will not advance your timing above stock levels and will not add any extra fuel over stock. I'm glad you got it free because that's what it's worth..... Nothing!!! So you can use it with nitrous or what ever else you want.

so if when you're 25 % throttle the ecu thinks it's at 50%, wouldn't it add more fuel?

uhhh ya wouldnt that waste gas...i dont see the point of going at 50% throttle if u only wanna go 25% throttle. If i wanna go 25% throttle, then i dont want a mod making me go faster, and like kirby said after 100% there is nothing more, it will give u nothing...so unless u wanna accelerate faster having ur pedal half way down (which i dont see any point) then sell it on ebay.

good point. i thought the only benefit was better throttle response, might sell it and save that money for the turbo conversion.
