I got my car a week and a half ago and i already got some mods in it. My questions and iwant some opinons or experience on what to expect with the following mods.
1 Cold air intake
2 full exhaust sytem i got rid of the cat and resonators.
3 Greddy chrome headers
4 Re did gorunding and power wiring on the car. Al i noticed afte doing this mod is my whole electrical system was better. Such as my interior light were way brighter than before. Its strat faster. But i still havent driven it.
5 Greddy muffler.
6 bored out throtle body.
7 ground control coil overs. included shocks.
8 Spark plugs.
thats it so for not having the tsi talon how much of an increase can i expect from 140 stock.
I just want it to be some what fast not super fast LOL. IS there any other recomendation i should do later on. No turbo. Sorry i have 420a so its already at 108k miles so i dont want it to be pushed.

well, lets go with whp, cause thats what matters...

stock- 112whp
CAI- +7whp
Exhaust- +3whp
header- +4whp
throttle body- +5whp
new wiring- 2whp
coilovers (if they are good)- MAYBE +1-2whp (allows for better traction during launch and shifting)

with these ESTIMATES, which is all they really are... id say you are righ around 130-133whp... which is definitely a decent jump from 112... hope this helps.

First off, I doubt the mods listed are going to make that amount of whp. Second, the hp they do make is going to spread throughout both high and low end....so where you might pick up 5hp at 5000rpm, you may only pick up 1hp at 2000rpm...or even lose hp/torque. And coilovers are not going to add anything. Better traction does not equal hp, it's only going to hopefully give you a stiffer ride which will in turn better transfer that power to the ground on launches more efficiently.

Realistcly, I would say you may gain 10-15whp max with the mods you listed. N/A dsms are no speed demons, they're heavy and slow from the factory so it takes ALOT of time and money to start making respectable numbers. Just don't be disappointed after you spend some signifigant money and are still running mid to high 15's.

I have most of your mods eccept for the TB and Ground Wiring, I have noticed some top end difference though I would say a mere 6-8whp if that, and about the coils, well TBSpyder is right, it wont give hp but transfer better, also add some poly motor mounts and bushings to transfer better,I will be installing mines next weekend, will post on them for you and others. I dont drag race but I do club race, now I have been running my car since I first got it purely stock and been progressing to everything I got now. I have noticed good pick up in acceleration even more when i got my 60mmTB from a jeep. I dont have header due to going turbo soon after christmas goes by $$$ but on the last 3 races I have been to comparing to a 350z I have been able to go from almost 8 seconds slower to around 3 thanks to my mods. I did some drag racing at first when I had everything but my cat back, TB, suspension, etc. and did 10.3s on an 1/8 mile track in a roll, couldnt drop it below that, but beat 8 out 9 cars mostly hondas. I bet I probably dropped my timing to 10.1s if that, hopping to do 9.5s with turbo if possible. But anyway, dont get discourage when you find out money is going almost nowhere, it really is, but REAL SLOW PROCCESS and expensive, I have dropped a little over 3 G's and thats what I got, but anything would help. Also, whenever i race I run a custom cold air that I made out of bits and pieces at your local home depot with no air filter and beat most of those that do have them and also expesive filters. NO Problems with internals at alldoing that (keep away from dust that you can visually see) You can also try taking you drivers side head lamp out and having your intake collecting air thru there, it works for me it might for you just try it wont hurt to do so.

I have a question to anyone with the knowledge and wisdom to help me here. I have another daily driver rx-7 85' and want to park my eclipse for rebuild and turbo kit or custom. What are the best internals that a 420A should have if looking at around 350hp??? Any comment would help Thanks and Charles1 I surely hope I gave you hints on what could work for you, happy motoring my friend.

yeah it dod help some actually alot . As far as speed goes all im looking for is 14 second car before i go turbo. That would be a while i will just wait until my engine fails. So if anyone knows what milage does a car uasaly go? so i can have some time to figure things out. Thanks so much for your input.

1 have a 95 eclipse gs with a turbo. the motor is built i used je pistions for the 420a crower rods the cranks in these cars i have been told it can handle 750 hp. but one thing i learned that if you redo the bottom end you better change the valves!!!!!! i had one break on me with only 256 miles on my new motor and destroyed my new piston in the first chamber. i have yet to find titanium valves but stock 420a valves are in there now with a 5 layor race grind. i have a super 16 g turbo twin scrowl. a front mount intercooler all custom tubing, and crane ignition said to be the best for my car. they also told me the 420 a can handle 350 hp on stock internals but i would only proceed that on your own risk. i have a greddy type s bov and a greddy profec b boost controller. i am safely pushing 15 psi with no fuel management system that is next. i get everything from hahns racecraft in illinous. that is who told me all the information of what i can do. but the best thing if you want a real adreniline rush is to do what i did i can stay side by side with a corvette z06!!

i have also put 12000 in my car!!!! so it is exspensive.
