97 Talon. When at idle it runs perfect (about 900 rpm). If I pull ot like i'm racing it is ok. If I drive like most people do it is missing enough that you can feel the car jerk. When i'm driving hard it is ok other than if I let off to shift with out a little gas pedal between shifts (almost double clutching) It misses between shifts. If I keep the R's up it's fine. When sitting at a light, when I go to pull out, sometimes it loads up and I can here it pop a little through my intake. (3 or 4 times every 1,000 miles).

a little history on the car, just getting ready to turn 100,000. I have a CAI, and I changed the muffler that is all the mods I have. I never changed the coil pack yet. (new wire and plugs though).

My guesses. . . .Coil pack? injectors?. . .

If it's not the plug wires, or the plugs, it could be your coil pack. Other than that, I'm guessing the Cam Position Sensor on the front right corner of the head. It's a magnetic sensor, so it's pretty tough, but the only thing I can think of other than that would be the crank position sensor on the back pass side of the block. Try swapping plug wires first. You never know, right?

Ohhh Man... Dont scare the shit out of me!
I got a 97 Talon - 115k miles - 5spd - about same mods you have

What you said does happen to me ONCE IN A WHILE but I dunno
maybe it's normal... who knows?

**NOT ITS NOT PLUGS, Just replaced them for new NGK ones**

The popping almost never happens and I dunno why it happens... seems that it comes from Intake area I guess.

The Jerking (I wouldnt consider that), happens sometimes but mostly with my A/C on... Description of it would be the car feeling slow after shifting to another gear!

Well... I'd guess all this is normal just like sometimes my car sounds loud and smooth, sometimes not loud at all and raspy...

I hope this isnt anything serious... We have basically the "same car" with the same miles

i have a 95 eclipse and i'm suffering similar problems. at around 4500 my car jerks and i have to shift. it does this in ever gear except for 5th...i havent felt it there. we had it looked at and the mechanic said it was a bad sensor so he cleaned it up and it fixed the problem temporarily but it came back. i'll let you know if they find something. goodluck

ya, Eclipseryder's got a point!
I believe most DSM do that Popping from the Intake!

And it's not just AEM CAI
Before, I used to have a "eBay" Short-Ram Intake and it popped
once in a long while.

sorry to get off subject but this also should be discussed!
