Exhaust Quest....

I want to get an exhaust but i want it sounding as close to stock as possible.... i want mostly performance. Any suggestions all i want is to have my car perform a little better and for it to look clean from the back with a new muffler or something. Help please! thanks

I would go with a high flow cat, 2.5" piping, and a stock gst muffler

Well, I guess I could have been more specific. I am looking for a non-stock muffler (not stock for any car basically), so it can be louder than stock, but not like the N1. And BTW I am doing custom piping. Thanks anyway Syder.

Hmmm im not sure man you should ask around for something not quite as loud. My buddy has a 2000 celica gt-s and he got the HKS hyper cat back exhaust and it isn't that loud but it doesnt appear stock.. i dunno dude, good luck though.

personally, i think the greddy sp exhaust looks absolutely horrible. The greddy evo looks sick tho, go with that. It's not too loud either. They did some comparing in an ad on the back of a super street one month and the greddy was the quietest exhaust out of all 10. The apex n1, hks, thermal, all of the big names were tested. Greddy also came in 2nd to gain the most hp. HKS beat out out by 1.3hp or something like that

My cuzin had the tanabe hypermedallion on his RSX and it sounded just a touch louder than stock, but almost perfect to where i want mine to sound like....After that i was put on you can feel a pretty big difference with it on I cant find it around for my car. Anyone out there know where i can find it?

i sold the magnaflow system to someone last week and imo it sound just barely louder than stock and it looked great

What you should try to do is just find the universal muffler of the type that you want, go to a muffler shop and have them put on 2.5 inch piping and weld the muffler to the piping. After installation and all the parts and stuff it should be around $200-225. I don't know wher eto get a universal muffler, you might want to look at local shops and try e-bay too. I've never heard the hypermediallion, maybe I'll look around. Anybody in CO with one?

Why'd you have to get rid of that? I might have bought it off you. That's cool though, what do you have now?
