I am posting this for someone I know that has a 2.0 n/t 93 talon. I have a spare 1g turbo maf from my 90 talon. He was wondering if there would be any benefit from swapping the n/t maf for the turbo one and if it is even possible? His mods so far are k+n and catback exhaust. Thanks

while the two are slightly different in size the main difference is the extra sensor wire on the turbo. if you look closely you'll notice that the nt has 6 pins on a 6 pin connector whereas the turbo uses 7 pins out of an 8 pin connector. since the nt ecu and wiring harness aren't set up to utilize this 7th pin all the work you'd put into installing it would be useless. if you want to flow more air then hacking the mass air sensor and correcting for it with slightly larger injectors and an s-afc with datalogging software to get it all setup right.

here are a few pics of one next to the other.

Mavisky,

Hacking the MAF, how much does that help?

What fuel upgrades would you suggest then? Also assume more mods and possible nitrous install. Will the computer be able to take the extra fuel and adjust the tunning on its own?

I have seen the data logging mentioned in my searches, is this the PDA software and if so what is the ease of use and it just reads the data correct? What are you using to tune things in? Its a 93 GS by the way.

honestly hacking the maf on an nt isn't going to do you alot of good. it flows plenty of air for 12 second passes and you're still a long ways away from that (don't worry so am i). personally i'm a firm believer in wet nitrous setups but if you want to run a dry setup i'd just grab a stock turbo fuel pump and call it a day. that way you're always guaranteed enough fuel.

as for datalogging check out www.digitaltuning.com , or www.pocketlogger.com .
