What is the difference bewteen a safc and a sfmu. Also apexi just came out with there safc II. Is it any better than the original safc. Also is there an alternative to the vortech sfmu price wise.

The Vortech S-FMU is a basic manually tunable fuel pressure regulator. It is considered a basic and very essential device for tuning. When used alone the S-FMU should be able to provide you with all the tuning flexibility you need. I use only this device to tune my 10psi setup and it does everything I require of my fuel curve.

The Apex-i Super Air Fuel Controller (S-AFC) is not a very necessary device in my opinion. It basically does everything the S-FMU is capable of while adding a few 'bells & whistles' that aren't really needed. Plus it has been said the S-AFC advances timing, which can be a very bad thing.

My advice, go with the S-FMU. If you need more tuning capability after that then go ahead and look into another piggyback device. Has anybody had any experience using the HKS AFR? I have heard this device is a pain in the ass to tune, but if it can do the job without advancing timing then I see it as a very viable choice in fuel tuning.
