1g or 2g?

Which generation of DSM would be quicker off the line from 0-60, if both are stock? or if u have kill stories about the other generation what kinda mods u got?...thnx later all.

I would think that both would be very similar. If I had to choose, I think a 1g would be faster off the line because I think it is lighter than the 2g and I have heard that the 1g has a much stronger block than 2g with more power potential and a bigger downpipe.

Why do you need to know?

im just curious cuz i have 1g, and i looked at edmunds car specs performance for 2g talon and the 0-60 acceleration says 9.2 sec which is not bad...now i dunno if u guys with 2g ever get ur 0-60 lower than 9.2 sec with ur added mods...i also checked sum other cars like cavalier z24 rated at 8.6 sec and pontiac sunfire gt rated at 8 sec...i also checked the cavalier 97 base model which is not a z24, rated at 9.7 sec with only 120hp and 130 torque ..but ne ways i just want my 1g talon to be quicker from 0-60 range...later.

yea go cavi. the non-z24 cavi is only that fast b/c it is much lighter. and a 5speed cavi launches pretty well. (I have one). However, i dont think i would trust that sight b/c a z24 and a sunfire GT are basically the same car (klinda like the whole talon/eclipse thing). I see no reason that the sunfire would be .6 seconds faster. Late, Jon

WOuld these numbers be for automatics? If you drive an Naturally Asperated automatic, you cannot be concerned with 0-60 times.

man....i timed my 0-60 with my gf holding the stop watch,,,i told her to stop the watch when it reaches 60mph in my speedometer,,, my best was a faaahkkinnnn! 11 sec....i got 2 10 inchez subs and im not sure if she really stoped the watch accurately..but the first run was a faahhhkin 12 sec...still damn slow .
