Im thinking about doing the bolt on turbo on my 99 gs (automatic), but i need to know of all the stuff i could do that will work even better with the turbo.

So far i have headers ,cold air intake , straight piping, and aftermarket 5zigen .

I was told to get my cam shafts regrinded with bigger lobes.
and after market aem cam gears , udp kit. is this true and if so what else.

i also herd of the jeep tb .i need information about that. and if i could get it before the turbo.

AND YES I KNOW I NEED TO GET RID OF THE HEADER AND CAI FOR THE TURBO

Also look into getting the Symborski shift kit (sp?). You dont need more aggressive cams, they just help the turbo spool a little quicker. You'll probably need cam gears though to adjust your timing.

I have been looking into this as well, and they guys I have talked to say that a complete rebuild is a wise thing to do. I was told that if you don't check and or replace all the seals and gaskets that your just asking for trouble. The guys I spoke with have a good reputation and have done many turbo kits for our cars. Other things you should replace are, rods (they suggested Eagle rods), pistons & rings, bearings. They also told me that if I didn't do the rebuild I should only expect about 15-20 thousand miles out of the engine. Seems to be a small price to pay to get longivity for the engine. Hope this has helped.

You do not need to do a rebuild, only if you plan on running 10+psi. I know people that have had their 2g n/t turboed for years with no problems. It all comes down to how you tune it and how well you take care of it. And to the originall question I would do the Jeep TB mod, air flow is your friend when you turbo:thumb:

I should have added that I'm looking to run 16-18 psi.
