2nd Step: Exhaust

well first off i got my new chrome aem cai tucked ever so snugly in the engine bay. now its time for a decision for some exhaust. now i dont have the funds to drop 400-600 on an entire stainless steel catback system so i was thinking of just going to a custom shop, Lou's Custom Exhaust if anyone wants to know, do get a new muffler.

i did talk to "Lou" himself and i told him i didnt want that whining fartcan noise and he said he will just install the resonator.

i wanted peoples opinions on which muffler would sound the deepest/meanest and peoples person experiences with what they have. i am pretty sure that he only has Magnaflow, Flowmaster and Bullet mufflers. any/all input would be awsome. thanks fellas.

I recently bought an Apexi N1 universal muffler on ebay for 100$. It took me awhile to find one that cheap but i kept looking until i found it. Ebay has a bunch of N1 knockoffs that look very similar for 40-50$, my brother has one on his probe GT and it sounds great.

But to the point, i had my Apexi N1 put on along with a 2.5" mandrel bent pipe from the cat back. It was raspy as hell at first until i had a resonator put on, now it sounds great. Very deep and not loud at all and i noticed a quite a bit of gain from it too.

Apexi N1 universal muffler - 100$
2.5" Mandrel bent pipe - 150$
Resonator - 35$

I had all this installed for 285$ and saved myself about 200$ from buying the actual N1 catback. I couldnt be any happier with this purchase.

Speaking as an Apex N1 owner as well, Ill agree with Ryan. Go Apex N1 universal muffler, then have them do the piping. Get them to do the N1 angle as well

Where did you get the 2.5" Mandrel bent pipe and the resonator? Also, what kind of resonator? I'd like to do this also.

Yes they should carry everything. If an exhaust place doesnt know what a resonator is, get in your car and leave
