Worth getting mainly for the sound. But for performance, the little you gain you'll probably never notice.
Everyone knows I could care less about making my car fast but I'm buying one after summer...just to get rid of the bumblebee sound.

i'll let ya know in about a week...once i get mine on that is
but if you havent done underdrive pulleys then do that to...thats my next mod

Mostly they will give you more room under the hood without all the heat shields. Also you'll shed a few pounds because the stock headers are heavy as f#$& ! An exhaust would help even more since you've already got a CAI. Not much of a power gain though.

before i had my pacesetter header i couldn't chirp the tires at all going into second, now i can get a pretty big chirp. i'd say its very very worth it.

What?!?!?

haha i installed my a few days ago... could chirp before and after i did it.... i dont think it made much of a difference but once i do exhaust, it should help a bit. sounds a little better but it also rattles the exhaust because of the lack of a flex-section. i dunno if ill ever got round to an exhuast..... the sound of a turbo is so much nicer.

I put a pacesetter header on a couple months back, and it sounds way better(with a new muffler as well) and I got a noticeable gain in power.

As for underdrive pulleys, what exactly are they and what companies make them...because I gotta do my timing belt soon, so ill probably get that all done at the same time. INFO PLEASE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

Underdrive pulleys turn the accessories (i.e. alternator, power-steering pump) slower, thus freeing up some HP.

I think UR (Unorthodox Racing) makes pulleys.

Rogue

Where could i find a header for a 94 talon DL 1.8 L and what size should i go with for a complete exhaust system... headers, high flow cat, cat-back and muffler.... 2.5" or 3"

whats a good type of header? pace setter got a bad rating by some, some ppl said th paint melted off the first time they used it. anyone know another brand that isnt very expensive to look into.

Greddy Headers are not that expensive. www.prostreetonline.com , they offer them. I just changed mine this weekend, there is a difference in your DSM with a new header and exaust system. Dont change the header without a new exaust system if you want to notice. That way you basically get a new feel and sound for your DSM. But for a n/t Greddy makes the best header, they look bad ass when on to compared to stock. But good luck on the change.

By the way, dont go with Pacesetter. They are cheap and dont show much gain from stock. 2 People here in Wichita Falls put one on at my friends shop and one cracked and the other lost the blue coat and put goo on his engine. Just dont do it, not recommended.

you guys chirp? dang crickets! My Accessory belt broke and I can haul now! pulleys is a must to me! Its more than a chirp
;)

if you can't sit in 2nd gear and just smolder your tires with a stock talon or eclipse, you have a problem with the car. installed CAI and now i can "chirp 3rd" 90,560 miles on her:thumb:

I have a 93 n/t and as far as the issue with exhaust go's, everybody looks past the biggest bottle neck on the whole thing. The catalytic converter isthe biggest restriction in any exhaust system. This is the main reason you feel minimal increase from just a header. You haven't opened anything after it.

I still have stock exhaust but I gutted the catalytic and the performance
was very noticeable. Slightly louder, faster ramp up on rpm's when driving, and longer power band from one piece in the middle of it all.
If you have ever looked through a catalytic converter than you'll understand the restriction. The entire thing is filled to the edge with a ceramic piece that has hundreds of safety pin sized holes from one end to the other.

Everybody knows that a HIGH FLOW exhaust system means smoother flowing(not as tight of bends in the pipe) and open. the converter is in the middle of the flow, slowing it down. My town is stopping emission testing(something about costing the state too much money) so I didn't worry about it but if you have to pass then buy a test pipe/race pipe and after emission time, change it until emission time again.:thumb:

my car didnt respond at all with a header until i added the injen intake too it... now it runs liek a raped ape... especially compared to stock.. i chirp second easily now with 225/40/18 tires!

the pacesetter header is fine by me.... just wipe down the crappy paint after you burn it off and it wont get on your car.... the torque increase and mpg is well worth it for those long trips..

alright... i will stick with the 2.5" inlet and outlet.. 2.5" high flow cat, and a 2.5" cat-back... for more of a " get up and go " what other quick mods can i do that i can do myself... ya, and were can i find an intake!!! once my behemoth of a MAS is disconnected my car wont start...

ya my pacesetter was totally worth the money now.... ive been driving with it for a few weeks and my mileage has gone up a bit....it hasnt made a huge difference, but i'm taking my cat out(i live in a town where we dont need cats!) and it should be better then. i'm also gonna wrp it up with exhaust wrap because its burnin up under that hood! a hood scoop would probably help..but thats too much work for now.
instead of turbo i'm contemplating higher compression..like 10.5:1 or maybe even 11:1.......
